When going camping what is the one thing you always forget to take with you when you go camping?? I am leaving this weekend with my two kiddos to met my husband in the morning. So it's a bit much to tend to a 3 and 5 yr old, and pack for 5 people (husband and older son need replacement clothes/food)

In the beginning a can opener...

Make a check list:
Bug Spray
Sleeping bag
Tent
Can Opener
Fire wood (if you are going to a park where they don't allow you use the fallen tree wood)
matches/lighter
walking stick (if you are hiking)
battery pack to go - for your cell phone in case of an emergency
first aid kit
flashlight
extra batteries
lantern
paper plates
diaper wipes
baby powder

It all depends upon HOW you are camping....there are SOOO many different "ideas" on camping....one of my close GFs? Her idea of camping is staying at the Holiday Inn!! My husband? put a backpack together and HIKE to a location - no bathrooms, etc..(not for me)....I like going to parks that have designated camp sites, etc. with a bathroom in walking distance...my BF? her idea is IF she is taking me to meet up with my parents - their motor home!! :) other than that - a hotel is camping for her! :)

If you are going to a camp ground - that has a picnic table - bring a card game for the kids to play...my boys LOVE playing mancala!

Here's a list of things that could be forgotten. Hershey bars and marshmallows and graham crackers! It is usually expensive at campgrounds too. Sun block, towels, sunglasses, sun hats, beach bag, floaties/noodles/ beach ball, picnic basket, feed the fish before leaving, ice in the cooler, air mattress if sleeping in tent, pillows, sweatshirts, shampoo(if at a campground with showers), tooth brushes, brush, blanket for fire works, BUG SPRAY, fly swatter, covers to put over food to keep the bugs out, table cloth, paper plates. Have a fun trip. I am waiting to go soon too. Wish my hubby would hurry with his packing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Toilet paper.
Now I have a checklist on my computer that I print out and check off as I pack.
I have no babies but I always take TP and baby wipes. We call TP - All-Purpose paper! LOL!

OH yeah, pack ziplock baggies!! Something will get wet and need to be isolated!

Wash line to hang towels and wet clothes and a little dust pan and brush to sweep up the tent. I also like to bring a door mat to place at the door to wipe feet. I put my baby wipes there so the kids can grab them to wipe hands and feet. We have a "no shoes" rule in the tent so a plastic tub to hold all the shoes is handy. Cover everything at night to keep from getting wet. Don't forget dish soap and a rack to hold them to dry.

Last time I forgot salt and pepper and our friends forgot Pam for the grill. We were able to help each other out. The great thing about camping is that people will share.

Have fun.

I never forget toilet paper, anymore. I did that only once. ;-))

I occasionally forget my pillow, or bed sheets to put inside my sleeping bag. Its amazing how much more comfortable a sleeping bag is when you use bed sheets on the inside.

Good luck to you and yours.
