What Cures Toenail Fungus?
Sorry to get gross on you gals but I am SOOO done with having an ugly big toe. I did a round of oral Lamisil that worked but my nail got reinfected after stopping the medication. Have you found something topical that really works? Is paying for laser treatment worth the money??

Definitely the vinegar soak!! Mix half vinegar with half water (I used to put it in a gallon ziploc bag and then into another gallon ziploc bag so it wouldn't leak) Soak everyday for at least 15 minutes and within a couple months or so you will see new clean nail growth. Continue to do it until completely gone and then it's good to do every once in a while after that. I used to have a toenail fungus for about 11 years or so and I was so embarrassed about it. I did the vinegar soak pretty much every day and now I have a beautiful clear nail!! I am so happy about it!!! You can keep the vinegar mix in the ziploc bag and just change it out every week or so. HTH!

I read that Vicks vaporub works. I've been using it on my moms toes for a few weeks now and it does seem to be improving. Just rub a liberal amount into your toe nail and bed and everywhere inbetween and put a sock on every night. It's cheap and easy, so worth the try.

If I remember right from when I was working in a dr's office, you often need to do 3 rounds of Lamisil. New shoes is also imperative, so you don't reinfect yourself. Sanitize sheets, socks, etc. The whole nine yards.

Hydrogen Peroxide and water. Take a 3% solution and mix it with a little bit of water. It will take care of the fungus right away. It's also not as toxic as Lamisil and not nearly the amount of side effects.

I second the vinegar soak. Do it every night for about 15 mins. It also helps with foot odor!

I have seen topical anti-fungal cream for under the nails at the store. I havn't used any of it, but am sure I saw some when getting another kind of cream in the same place at walmart.

If Lamisil didn't kick it then I doubt Vicks would. Lasers do work but so could another round of Lamisil. You probably reinfected yourself by going barefoot in shoes that were contaminated. Ask your dermatologist if you can combine Lamisil and lasers both.

Don't know first-hand, but several people on this site have recommended Listerine before, as well as Vicks. Sounds funny, but you may want to try it. I know Lamisil is VERY expensive. If your insurance covers it, you can do another round of that, but it's possible to get liver damage from it, so be aware if your dr. hasn't mentioned it.

Pure tea tree oil. A couple of drops below the nail once or twice a day. It does take a little while to get rid of but it won't come back!
