I highly recommend www.sparkpeople.com for weight loss. It moved to a free format last January and I was a paid member before that. It's worked beautifully for me because I'm able to track my fitness and nutrition, they have message boards where you can connecct with others and get excited about weight loss, and they have tons of great articles and recipes to help. I flunked weight watchers. It didn't make sense for me, and while I lost on low carb, once I went back to eating regular foods, it started coming back on. This program was the first that helped me focus on changing my attitude about food.

Hi J.,

I've had your message in my inbox for awhile. I skimmed through some of the responses and I think they were all good. Exercise and good nutrition are definitely key. While I have never had that kind of weight to lose, I wanted to share with you a couple of things that have worked for me, and I am confident can work for absoutely anyone. The first one is "Body for Life" You'll need to buy the book...I'm pretty sure the author is Bill Phillips. It is a 12 weeks program that can produce phenomenal results. It is stringent, but incredible. It incorporates optimal nutrition and exercise. It is possible that you could achieve your results with 2-3 of these 12 week programs back to back. I am actually getting ready to start this program again at the beginning of the year (its been about 4 years since I did it). The second thing is a program called Isagenix. My husband became somewhat involved with this after experiencing great results. He lost 22 pounds in 9 days! I didn't do a cleanse with him at that time because I was still breastfeeding, but when I did it, I lost 7 pounds in 9 days, but I also lost 13 inches! Now, this is not a lose weight fast, gain it right back type of thing. The 9 day cleanse is basically a jump start to getting your body in the fat-burning mode and setting you up for success. For the 9 day cleanse, on the first two days and the last two days, your only intake is the Isagenix cleansing drinks as well as their little snacks and a few almonds. Their products are great at stabalizing your blood sugar. Not saying it's easy, but definitely doable. The middle 5 days, you have one of their shakes for breakfast, a sensible lunch like chicken and broccoli, and a shake for dinner, plus some of their snacks in between. After doing the 9 day cleanse, you begin the maintenance program which consists of doing what you do on the middle 5 days of the cleanse until you reach your desired weight. Now, I have tried dozens of different brands of protein/nutrition shakes and these are by far the best...and they also have the best protein bars I've ever tasted. I know it's a lot of info., but I'm such a believer in either one of these plans that I wanted to share them with you. Whether you choose to apply the info. I've shared or are giving something else a shot, I'd love to hear how you're doing. This is definitely a tough time of year for everyone with all the cooking and baking going on. If you want to check out Isagenix, go to my husbands site which is www.stvarnell.isagenix.com. If you decide it's something you'd like to try, shoot me an email and I'll show you how get it at wholesale. Best Wishes. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! N. ____@____.com

J.,
I had the same a major weight loss problem, or should I say "lack of weight loss" after our fourth child. One of my daycare mom's gave me the website: www.customhrt.com and from there I ordered a three month supply of phentramine for less than $80.00. Less than two months have passed and I have lost 20 pounds already. My husbands HSA through his insurance even paid for the script! Hope that this helps some.

Hi J.!!

Honey, I am in the exact same boat as you. I also need to loose about 150 lbs. Wanna do it together? We can be e-mail buddies or something. I live in the Florissant area and if you are close, maybe we can meet up and walk or something. I could definately use someone to go through it with!

My email: cindari at sbcglobal dot net (this way spammers don't spam mail me)

Hope to hear from you!!

What is your diet like? I kept a journal of foods I ate and activities I did. I lost 40 lbs. in 4 months, while nursing a healthy baby and this is how. I worked out by walking 30 minutes a day, and moving things in my house to less convenient places (ie. taking the diapers up to the kids room) This made me have to carry them upstairs to change their diapers, and have to walk farther everyday in general. I also changed what I ate, but cheated whenever I felt the urge. (My weakness is dark chocolate and I ate it often). I cut out all red meat and ate every three hours. I grew up as part of the clean your plate club, but I abandoned this. Now I pack up what I don't eat and either eat it later or serve it to the kids. I lost a total of 50 pounds, and then found out I was pregnant again. I then lost another 14 while pregnant, and put it back on towards the end. It was gone after the baby though. Oh yeah and I do 24in24 of milk and drink H2O if I get hungry first because often that hunger feeling is actually thirst.

My husband has been on South Beach for 6 weeks and has lost 20 lbs. I'm on it too but appear to only be losing inches around waist and not pounds (down 2 jeans sizes so far), but I'm ever hopeful! It's a lot easier than it sounds and you eat SO much better while on the diet. I have a lot more energy just because I'm not eating junk/fast food as my meals. It's worth researching!
