I think the taking off all clothing while sitting is normal, all three of my kids stripped from the waist down, when they first started potty training.
It takes time for them to stop peeing in their underwear, alot of training underwear is thicker and feels kind of like a diaper to kids. If he's doing good using the potty, then eventually it will all click and come together.

I'd suggest waiting until he wakes up dry in the morning before switching out of night time diapers. My daughter was doing great during the days and no accidents, so I stopped night time diapers thinking she was ready. I did alot of sheet changing and mattress cleaning. With my boys I waited. When they're sleeping they don't feel the "have to go" feeling, so they just go.
Hope this helps and good luck with your potty training!

lol, sounds like my son. he exasperated me because he would insist on being completely naked. this was not long before he started re-dressing himself! i figure if he's going to take it all off he better figure out how to put it back on cuz i got really tired of it really quick lol. it's a process! just keep guiding him and teaching him how to do it correctly. we have a "one foot" rule - one foot out of everything, the other stays in. it also helps him redress because he doesn't have to worry about things getting put on backwards. as far as the night time thing goes, my son has been day trained since august and we are just now doing nighttime - well, the last couple weeks. he has had two accidents at night, but he started getting up in the middle of the night- every night- to potty, so that's when i started. he's done great. your son is doing fine, just keep working with him and be patient. there are "methods" you can train your child to do it all at once, but i went with my son's cues and when he was ready. normally day training is easier and comes awhile before night training.

My son was completely trained 3 months before he turned three. He did have his big sister as a model & that may have helped, but I believe the biggest difference was me. I was more in tune with him than her because I had been trained. Try & really tune in to your son for 2-3 days & find out how long after he eats or drinks does he go. this is very important info. Then you can get him to the potty before the accidents occur.. Once they go on the potty enough, then the other feels weird. Your reworking a habit & the hardest is to rework your own. I had to set my watch for every 45 minutes because my son just dribbled here & there & never really held it. So after going going going he got the picture & I noticed time stretching in between. Same for poo. keep track of poo times so you are prepared to have them near a bathroom & get them on before. For night time, I hated laundry & my kids slept so hard they wouldn't even wake up! disgusting! So I had them go at 8;00pm put them to bed, then i would get them up to go at 10:00 when i went to bed. I left lights off so they didn;'t fully wake. Then I set my watch alarm & i would get up at 1:30 and have them go again. then they would make it till 6:00am. Eventually I weaned out the 1:30 pee & then they told me later not to wake them to go they would do it themselves. I tried it & they were good to their word. I did use pull ups at night to avoid laundry & if we didn't have any accidents, i would have him use same pull up next night. I think we used two pull up p[ackages total & I had a half a pack left over when he told me he didn't need baby underwear. Remember not to get upset, it is hard to learn how to use new body parts that are just developing and really just make it a matter of fact. I asked my kids if they saw big kids wearing diapers. they said no & i said exactly. Hope this helps you.

Don't stress about the night time diapers. He will outgrow them eventually, but it may take years. He can't control it during sleep, so just let it be. Also, he will get through the stripping phase quickly (relatively). Probably just a couple of months. All 3 of my kids were 3 before regular accidents stopped and they were truly able to make it to the potty consistently. Just be patient and hang in there. This will get better!

Night time potty training is something completely different. It's a physical milestone tied to the development of the muscles and the body's production of a homornone that allows them to stay dry all night. It really has nothing to do with "training". He may be fine during the day, but may still need diapers at night for a while. With my son, I kept him in diapers at night until he woke up dry for 30 days in a row with no accidents. I have him pee before bed and we have no accidents. I even send him to bed with a sippy of water too! As a side note, I have a friend whose son is stil in pull ups at night. Dr's don't worry about this until after 6, so you may or may not have a while to go in night time diapers.

Regarding the taking the clothes off, try and over look that. Focus on the positive -- he's going potty *on* the potty. That's what matters. He will eventually go with clothes on. Until then, just try and look at it as one of his cute quirks.

I agree with the previous posters about the night time diapers. Take it one step at a time. I've got an almost 3 daughter and we're going through the same thing. Save yourself a lot of grief and get him 'daytime' trained before worrying about the night time. Oh, and my little one is just getting to where she stays dressed on the potty. Yes aggravating but inevitable I think. Good luck, I feel your pain!

First, night time may take a lot longer. My boys all wore a diaper or pullup at nite until they woke up dry consistently. For the most part that was around the age of 5 for my older boys and I figure that is about when my now 3 1/2 year old will as well. I guess I don't stress about the nite time too badly. For Day time...unless you are in a public restroom - who cares if he strips to nothing to potty....at least he is going in the potty and not his pants. If he is not doing so yet, teach him to stand up to pee and that may help with him not taking all of his clothes off.

Good luck as you continue this stage of life:)
