Hi all,

I'm planning to take my young family to DisneyWorld this spring but was wondering with all the construction on Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom, is it worth going still? My youngest is 3 and is obsessed with Dumbo, is Dumbo still running or did they rip it out in anticipation of the new Dumbo opening later in the year? I guess I'm just trying to figure out if Magic Kingdom is still worth going to right now cause I don't know what rides are still open and what is being ripped out?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

We just went in November. Most of Fantasyland is boarded up. The rides are running but it isn't very magical looking. If you ride the train you can see all the construction going on. Dumbo was open but can I gaurantee in the spring that it will be.. No. We go every year and knew what to expect so it did not bother us too much. My 4 year old girl is more interested i. Meeting princesses than the rides. If this is a once in a lifetime or you plan to go infrequently I would suggest waiting until it is finished because you will feel bad about the way it looks. Your 3 year old probably won't notice or care. There are the other parks also bit MK is where we spend most of our time. If you go have a great time!

I was there in Oct. Although there was construction going on, it was next to the Dumbos and they were operating. I don't think they would shut them down. They are too popular.

Around the construction is high boards so that you can't see much of it. And on the boards are paintings of princesses, etc. W actually took lots of photos against it.

the construction is only a very small part of the entire MK experience. Fantasyland is still up and running - but no more toon town.

You will be fine going. Try going on Mousesavers, allears.net and other sites that have a forum - those people are so in the know about everthing that goes on there. Allears.net has rehab/closing info too - check that tab.

On their website you should be able to find out what rides are closed during your stay...

The new Fantasyland will be opening this year. I haven't seen any specific dates yet, but I am sure they will be done by spring. Check out the blogs on the Disneyworld web-site, you may find someone that knows the answer. Also, they will have two Dumbo rides. They will be moving the original next to the new one.

I haven't been there since the week before Thanksgiving and it was still running then. I stay away from the parks during the holiday's, it's too busy.
