Hi M.,
You have gotten some good advice. I agree that you should try another person. I have gone to a dozen different waxers over the years and it does get easier but it is never pain free. The amount of pain totally depends on the knowledge of the person doing the waxing. Check into some of the more upscale salons in your area and they should have a good person. It really helps me to go every 4 weeks.

I used to be really sensitive to waxing and finally realized that it was because of a medication that I was taking. Not sure if you are taking anything or put anything on your skin ritually but that may be why.

Try taking ibuprofen 1-2 hours before you wax. It helps with the pain and any swelling caused by waxing.

waxing hurts, but your body actually adjusts to it when done regularly, so skipping can actually make the pain worse when you do it. Also, I found that different waxers matter as do the type of wax they use. If you're in the charlottesville area there is a great women who doesn't use the hot wax/strip stuff but something else. Below is a link to her website wear she tells about it, maybe you should look for a different person or place? Also, if you go regularly the pain will be less over time, thought never completely pain free.

It doesn't grow faster thicker, you are just gettong the middle of
the hair. I'd try to find some of the soy based growth reduction
stuff, I like Nuetrogena's shaving cream (blue & green). When you
do wax have a cold cloth handy, once you pull the strip off press
down with the cold cloth.

You can switch to sugaring. There is a product called MOOM. It contains tea tree oil, lemon juice and calendula. You use it just like wax, but the other ingredients help to reduce the ouch and helps the tissues to calm down. It's sold @ health food stores like Whole Foods.
I have brought it to the place where I had waxing done and they had no problem.
