Warm and Toasty Sock Suggestions

Hi Ladies,

Can anyone suggest some warm and toasty socks? I work from home often and my home office tends to be quite chilly. My feet seem to always be cold. I don't like to wear slippers - just a warm and cozy sock. Any suggestions? I'm willing to spend some money if they will keep me toasty.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Smartwool socks, my all time favorite. They are pretty, they are warm, they have some with padded soles as well. I wear them under my slipper socks at home (I love to be warm) and they make the cold and wet Portland winters far more tolerable.

I love the super soft, warm ones from Bath and Body. My daughter and I keep those on hand. SO soft, launder well, they have the little non slip discs on the bottom plus Shea butter moisturizers in them. They are about $8 and worth every penny!

I second the Smartwools. They are made for people who go adventuring in the snow. Get the thick ones (they make thinner ones too for summer - still great since wool doesn't cause blisters as often as cotton in the heat). At this point I've changed over about 90% of my sock collection to Smartwools.

I had this problem in the office I worked in.
My feet would freeze and it didn't matter what I wore on them.
Little space heaters were not allowed - they were a fire hazard.
So I got one of these (which was allowed):

It's quiet, water proof, safe and it kept my feet nice and warm.
You can also dry boots off on it.

JCPenney sells a line called "Socks to Stay Home in" or something like that. They are just warm and soft and cozy and would be very uncomfortable if you tried to put shoes on over them. I love them on Friday nights at home and Saturday mornings when I decide to take the morning off!

My favorite socks are cashmere. They're not even really that thick, but they're so soft and warm.

Spend the money and get a few pairs of wool socks.
I've had luck finding them at TJMaxx/Marshall's.
Worth. Every . Penny.

Working from home...You "lucky duck." :) Just get yourself a simple pair of hiking socks.

I also recommend Smartwool for parents and kids. They are wool, but stretch well and are special because they do not itch. Also make great hats.

Smartwool is hands down the best (look for sales). We lived in Alaska 14 years. I would not go with any other brand. They have cute striped ones and such but ignore the thin ones and get the super thick ones. They are SO NICE and warm. My favorite!

I've heard good things about socks made from alpaca, too.
