Brighton Photography is a MUST! It is a husband and wife team that love what they do. They prefer outdoor photographs (which I absolutely LOVE). They can do all types of finishes (B&W with a little color put back in the picture is my favorite). They just had a session with a family last Friday (two teenagers and their mom) and the pictures are GREAT! They have samples of their portfolio they can send to you before you make your decision.

I don't know if you are wanting a location shot or in studio, but we just had family portraits done at Portrait Innovations. You can google them to find their locations. We went to the one at Park and the tollway. They were great with my 1 and 3 year old and very patient when the 3 year old didn't want to take a picture. Very cost friendly too!
