Hi Moms,

I could use some help. I want to get a perm and need referrals for someone good. I used to get them done years ago when I lived in Atlanta, but have been so afraid since moving to Florida. Cost is not a concern and I am willing to drive some distance (although I would be thrilled to find someone in Sunrise/Plantation where I live). I have long, thick hair and really want someone who will do a good job! Also, I am looking for a referral to have my a/c ducts cleaned. My little one has allergies and I can see that the air coming out of the vent is dirty because the ceilings are discolored around the vents. I am looking for someone who will do a thorough job without robbing me. There are so many advertisied in the flyer and other advertisements but would rather use someone that has been referred. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What can I do next?

The Hair Studio on Sample Road in Popano Beach is a wonderful little place, not too pricey. Ask for
Lisa E. She is very good. Darlene is good as well.

I live in Tamarac but I go to a woman named Maritza at Susy's Salon in Pembroke Pines. It is off of University in the plaza with Marshalls and Publix. She is Dominican and does a great job.

D.,

I can't help you with the duct cleaning. However, I can recommend a good place to help with the hair. It is in a little plaza on the corner of Stirling and University by the Home Depot. It is called Classic Cuts. They are really good in there. I go there to get my hair cut. You might want to check them out, they are resonably priced too.

Good luck.

Hi D.

I have a guy I go to his name is Buddy and the salon is called Hair Angelz. It's located on Cleary between Nob Hill and Pine Island. I'm sorry I don't know the exact address. If you look it up on line you will be able to find it. He does a geat job to my hair. I also have very thick hair and he has no problem with my hair. He has been a hair dresser for at least 20 years and updates himself on the new styles and trends. I don't get a perm from him instead I get the Brazilian. But I am very confedent he will do a good job for you.

If you do decide to go to him, just mention that I recomended you to him.

Good Luck

Hi D.,
Cleaning your air ducts is probably a good start to improving your indoor air. But, if you want to do all you can to improve your son’s allergies, have you thought about chemical exposure?

Do you spray a lot of chemicals around the house like Lysol and Febreeze? Do you use cleaners like Pinesol and Mr Clean? Do you wash clothes with detergent like Tide? And add bleach and fabric softener?

I saw an interesting CNN documentary that said we all have toxins in our system. It comes from the air, the water and the products we use. The scary part was that babies are born with over 200 chemicals in their system!

Have you seen a video called The Toxic Brew? You can watch it here: www.theglobalsuccessteam.net/resources/wmv/toxic_Brew_dsl

The toxic chemicals that are in almost every cleaning product we buy at the grocery store and Wal-Mart can affect us all. But, children are the most susceptible - and vulnerable. Not only can toxic chemicals make you itch, cause rashes, headaches and breathing problems, they can affect your brain. Everyone's going green these days. We're all becoming more aware of keeping our family, our home and the earth safe.

Safer cleaning products are popping up all over - Even at the grocery store. Some brands are better than others. Here are the safest, green cleaners that Oprah recommends - and uses: http://GC.StarTeamUSA.net .

What if this could make a difference in your son’s allergies?
