Wallaby Sling Advice

Does anyone else have a Wallaby sling? I was lured by the cuteness of it and bought one before my little girl (now 4 months old) was born. But, I haven't been using it. I can't quite get the hang of it. Since you buy them sized, it does not have a shoulder adjuster, and I can't seem to get me or my baby comfortable in it. If anyone else has one, please let me know if you've found it useful or not. I'm about to give up, but thought I check with this group before throwing in the towel (and accept that I've wasted my money). Thanks!

What can I do next?

Have you tried finding thier website (http://www.lilwallaby.com/html/contact_us.html) and contacting them about your concerns?

I have a couple of pocket slings, like the Wallaby, and I gave up on trying to use them with an infant. I do, however, really like them for hip carries when the baby is able to sit up in them. I don't know if you have tried a hip carry yet, but your daughter should be old enough to try.

Because all the weight is on one shoulder, pocket slings aren't the most comfortable for long stretches of time with heavy babies, but you can't beat the simplicity, packability, and convenience. Once my now 5 month old outgrows his infant seat, I expect to use a pocket sling all the time for going into stores and other errands.

I don't have any experience with that sling, but the good news is that you can always resell it on craigslist or ebay and get most of your money back. :-)

If you want to try a different baby carrier w/o feeling like you wasted money, you could try diaperswappers.com on the for sale or trade board. they have one dedicated to baby carriers and you might be able to find another mom willing to trade with you for the price of shipping. Just a thought! That's what I'm doing with a carrier I ended up never using. I want to also say I ended up using the Ergo with my son and LOVED it. Very easy to use and holds a lot a of weight!
