Hi mamas! I am pregnant with my third child and am 24 weeks along. I have two girls ages 4 and 2. This pregnancy we are having a little boy. It's a litte crazy, but EVERYTHING about this pregnancy has been different. I know it's not because it is a boy versus having girls but there are no similar symptoms, pains, cravings, feelings... I had a much easier time being able to compare my other pregnancies which helped me navagate what might be going on. With this baby I am so in the dark.
Recently I have noticed that my belly is so so so sensitive. I can't even lean against the counter to turn on the kitchen faucet. Any time something bumps my belly it hurts so badly. Can it be possible that he is closer to the surface than my girls were? maybe they were farther back. My eldest was very high, my youngest very low, this little boy is right at my belly button. I feel like I should wear some kind of belly pad!
I am dealing with this with my third pregnancy, the second trimester was the worst, any time I touched my belly especially if I hit a little part of the baby was just a horrid tender pain, my midwife says it can happen. Now in the third trimester it doesn't hurt at all, which is great cause I love feeling the little one inside from the outside. Not sure if it is the same but just an idea of what I felt
Each pregnancy is different... :-) Doesn't matter if its boys or girls.
I am a few weeks away from delivery of our 4th... I can tell you that with each one I noticed more of those "pains" and sensetivities that you hear about... The ligaments are stretched easier and your body is just plain older than it was with any prior pregnancy...
The depth of your skin and uterus from the outside world really doesn't change... But did they happen to mention or did you notice where the placenta is with this baby? With our oldest the placenta was in the front and I really didn't notice the kicks as much as with the babies with the placenta in the back or sides... etc...
Also the placement of the placenta can make you seem to carry higher or lower or farther out front...
Our oldest is a girl, middle 2 boys, this one is a girl... Ugh... This pregnancy is TOTALLY different than any other... I have been blessed to not have morning sickness or nausea with any of the first 3... No "pregnancy horror stories or complaints really... well except for the stretch marks that turned my belly into a model of a different planet... Really easy deliveries and big healthy babys... (including 10 lber)
With this one I have had nausea since about month 1... Have been in the hospital 2 times because of pain attacks that have now been linked to gall stones that developed during this pregnancy... MOVEMENT like crazy!!! And a pinched nerve from my knee down (random spot for it... lol) Just been really moody and no energy... Totally unlike our other daughter OR sons...
I did find that the type of waist band on my pants helped with the sensetive belly time... The old fashioned up over the belly maternity pants helped give that extra layer of padding...
Maybe muscle separation? I have this from my first pregnancy, and I notice now with #2 that every time my belly has a "growth spurt" my tummy, mostly right around my belly button, is very tender and sore. I find that wearing a Bella band (basically a band of Spandex) helps a lot. It's crazy the millions of things that come with pregnancy that you never hear about until you are pregnant!!
With each pregnancy comes different aches and pains that you didn't notice before , a lot of it comes with having kids to already look after. I have 3 kids (boy then 2 girls) and my son and middle daughter pregnancies were identical so your right in that a different sex doesn't mean a different pregnancy. My 3rd pregnancy was full of aches , pains , twinges etc and morning/all day sicknes for the first 16 weeks
As long as you are not in unbearable pain and something feels wrong then just take each day as it comes.
