Vaseline in Hair--HELP!
My 2 yr old daughter decided to try and fix her hair with the vasiline. Does anyone know how to get it out of her hair? I have washed and washed.

So What Happened?™
Well.....This is what I did. I put cornstarch in her hair for about 30 mins. I washed her hair with baby shampoo. Then, I put a baking soda/water paste in her hair and washed it again with baby shampoo. So far, her hair looks a lot better than it did before.
At least I can say one thing.......Her hair is more manageable now! LOL!!

Have you tried something like dawn dish liquid? I would wash it several times with that. Iam even a hairdresser and that is the only thing I can think of. dish liquid can be pretty stripping, it is used to lighten bad color(sometimes), so good luck, Let me know how it plays out>

I am not exactly sure if this will work or not but try baking soda. We use it to strip hairspairy build-up ect. It will only dry the hair out which seems to be what you are looking for.

Hi L., you might think I am crazy but give it a try first! Take some corn meal and rub it on her scalp...corn meal will absorb the oil where you can then wash it out of her hair!! just take some and rub it all in her hair and watch and see if it doesn't get it out...let me know and good luck....D.

Don't know if it will work but I think it is worth a shot! Try using Dawn Dish Soap! You will want to use the grease fighting kind and as warm water as she can stand! Good Luck!

I would suggest trying a bar of moisturizing soap. Shampoo may not get it "squeaky" enough to feel like it's getting clean. Soap may do the trick.
I can recommend one in particular offline if you'd like to email me. (____@____.com)
Hope this helps!! It's just the first time...won't be the last huh?
