Hi - I am looking for a pediatrician who supports a modified vaccination schedule. I definitely want to vaccinate, but just on a modified schedule (e.g. 1 or 2 at a time). Does anyone know of a good one in the Redondo/Hermosa/Manhattan Beach or Torrance or surrounding areas? Thank you so much!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. Unfortunately one of the recommendations said they would not accommodate an alternate schedule, and the other is no longer accepting patients. I would LOVE any other recommendations if any of you have them? Also willing to drive too. Thank you!

Danette Taylor is our family doctor and has been very supportive of a modified vaccination schedule. She's wonderful - we all love her - so maybe an option if you're willing to go with a family doc instead of a pediatrician.

I don't have an answer for you but I do have a suggestion as to where to go to get some suggestions. Try a birthing center in your area or a breastfeeding support group. Both of those would have Mama's that are of the same mind set and would have some suggestions for you.

Our Doctor is in Santa Monica (although we live in Playa), but we love him. Dr,. Jay Gordon. He is totally up on the vaccine issue and supports limiting vaccines.

I see that you did not get good results from the answers you got. My doctor is in Santa Monica, I live in Playa and may even move next year to Manhattan or El Segundo, but will still stay with him. I love him and his office. He is totally open to alternate schedules. He ven supports no vaccinations at all (as is my 7 and 9 year old). He says that his vaccinated kids come in more often for sick visits than the non vaccinated kids. I basically go for the healthy visits only, so the distance is no big deal. My kids hardly get sick, and they advise well over the phone so you may not have to run into the doctor. Just last year they started asking for $250 a year to support the nurses (that we talk to when needed), but to me it was worth it since I was not going in for visits (where most doctors office's will tell you to come in to see the doctor). The one issue may be insurance.. They are not a provider of any play, but I have also felt this worth it since I barely go in. They also do not throw antibiotics quickly. (my daugthers first dr. prescribed antibiotics 4 times by the time she was two and then I switched and have not gotten that since).

His name is Dr. Jay Gordon 901 Montana Ave # C Santa Monica, CA 90403-1577 ###-###-####

I just came across this post and am in the exact same position. FN, did you find a pediatrician or family doctor who meets your criteria? I'm having a tough time. My baby is due for her 8-week check up and I really don't want to vaccinate her so soon. Please share any insight on your research. Thanks all!!

Another dilemma: I'm stuck with an HMO insurance plan, which covers my daughter. I am willing to pay cash at Dr. Gordon's office but think I would have to take my daughter off of my insurance to do so. With an HMO, you must have a primary care provider. Deb, if you don't mind me asking, do you have a PPO plan?
