My husband and I will be celebrating our 15 year anniversary this fall and want to go away for about 4 or 5 days (without kids!). Anyone have any great vacation ideas? I am open to anything in the U.S. as well as the Carribean area or even Mexico. FYI - I have an issue with my knee so I can't do a whole bunch of walking.

What can I do next?

I've been to a Sandal's all-inclusive resort twice. I'd recommend going to Negril, Jamaica. Negril is known for it's beautiful sunsets, and Sandals provides all the food, drinks & entertainment that you want. It's great! :)

Congrats on 15 years! :) Keep the love alive!

Newport, RI is beautiful and so romantic! Check out some websites, but we honeymooned there for 5 days and loved every minute of it!

A friend of our just got back from Cancun. It was all inclusive - airfare, luxury hotel, hotel pools, beachside, meals - all included. They never left the hotel unless they went to the beach next door. She said all she did was relax.

If you want to be low key, veg out and pamper, go to a Sandal's Resort in the Carribean. They are all inclusive, couples-only. You don't really do anything except lay by the pool, eat and retire to your room... :) Of course there are activies and tours if you're so inclined.

We went to Antigua on our honeymoon, but have also been to Jamacia, which we really loved. If you just want to stay in one place and indulge, this is the way to go.

I love to travel. I also love cruises. I've been to an all inclusive resort. I took my wife to an all inclusive resort that was adults only.

Based on what you've said, I'd either go on a cruise or to an adults only resort. The adults only resort we went to was adults only, meaning "no kids" under 18. It was a nice resort, but not XXX. We had a wonderful time. It was on the east coast of Mexico, Riveria Maya. It had six restaurants, and the worst was very, very good. It was all inclusive and everything was included, but the fancy liquor. (We don't drink so I can't explain their liquor policy.)

Cruises are also great. The cruise lines now have adult only pools, spas, and jacuzzi. If you don't like to walk, get a cabin close to the rear (aft) of the ship because of where the restaurants are, unless you are staying on the 5th floor or lower, then opt for the center of the ship. Unless you are super sensitive, I wouldn't worry about sea sickness. Ships are so stable now that they have bowling alleys and miniture golf courses on board.

If you like to save money, then check out the travel web sites. They have some real good deals right now. I used cheapcaribbean.com, but travelzoo.com and shermanstravel.com also have real good deals. Many of their travel deals include airfare.

Be sure and get a passport. They are now required for any travel beyond our borders. Apply NOW if you don't already have passports.

Congratulations on your 15th anniversary. Good luck to you and yours.

I'd go to Mexico or someplace else super warm and tropical-y, but we're sun vacationers! If you want to do a resort, I'd probably go all inclusive, especially if you may not want to walk far. In Mexico we stayed in Costa Maya and it was great! There were only a few kids, the beach was to die-for and it was just really pleasant. You could also do a cruise, which I love to do too b/c it's very relaxing. You wouldn't have to get off and do excursions or anything if you didn't want to, and some of the excursions are just drive to the beach and chill, so that would be good too. The only problem is the ships are pretty big and there is a fair amount of walking around on them, although it's probably not that much different from walking to and from the beach at a resort. Have fun and congrats!!

Puerto Rico is amazing! And you don't need a passport to get there since it's a US territory. :)

I would avoid Mexico right now. What about Key West, FL? I LOVE LOVE LOVE San Diego Calf. There is so much to do from places to eat to places to go, to awesome beaches to sit and relax at.

My husband & I enjoy going on cruises. It's perfect for a 4-5 day trip & you get to see several different places rather than just one set location. Food is wonderful & there is entertainment on the boat. You can do as much or as little as you want. We have gone with Carnival cruise line because they are a bit more affordable but you still get a quality experience. They only extra cost you will have on the boat is if you get alcohol, do an excursion, go to the spa, or gamble. And of course, if you want souvenirs from your port stops. Do a little research & see if it is something that would interest both of you.

My most favorite vacation was Oregon. We rented a car and did a road trip around the outside portion of the state. From gorge to the eating cherries in between a night at a ski lodge Timberland lodge to MT. Bachelor and snow, to crater lake to then a desert and then the water side and the seals and the big ocean and back to portland. Now if all you want to do is sit and relaxe I highly recommend our Florida Keys.. You cannot beat it. I would not just go to Key west. There is so much more to the keys and different areas. Marathon is nice as well as Penne camp area. You can get a hotel right on the beach get a tan and just relax. Also you can go to Ft, Lauderdale in Florida stay at the marriot which has a walkway over to the beach but plenty of shopping on the street. West Coast Florida I'd go to Tampa and Treasure Island area. You can eat a dock and watch the dolphins swimming around, there are little shops, places to eat and white sandy beaches. In NY if you cant walk the city might not be a good idea but if you go out to Montauk Point its small communitites ocean. Very nice over all.

Go on a cruise. I love cruising. There are a lot of fun 3-5 day Cruises. My favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean. There is a lot to do on board as well. The shore excursions can be simple to hard. You can take a bus tour of the destinations you are visiting. You can also relax at the beach at certain destinations. It's so much to do on a cruise and a good way to visit many islands.

My next dream trip is to go to Key West, Fl for a few days. I love Key West. It is just what you think it would be very laid back. I can understand why Ernest Hemmingway loved that place. Good luck and have fun!!

We love Cruising....kind of the best of everything. You can relax and do nothing at all or you can fill your days with sight seeing, shows, gambling and fancy dinners. You get to visit multiple places, have your room made up 2-3 times a day, meals around the clock. Just an all around great vacation.

Places we have been and just stayed for a week and loved...ARUBA...so beautiful. Very Americanized if that matters at all to you.

Key West is a great, great time too.

We went to Punta Cana about 10 years back.. Beautiful all inclusive, but the Service was terrible!

Have Fun!
