I have been TTC for 5 months now, But I did just have my pre conception check up and started prenatles and also started charting my BBT I am on cycle day 21 My pre ovulation temps tend to be low (about 97.0) I have had blood work done and eliminated any problems as far as thyroid etc any how my temps reflected a dip then a rise to 97.8 on cycle day 13 and have stayed right about 97.6 now I am having another set of rising temps at 98.0 + I have read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and I am charting at FF I am confident that I am seeing the clear change of temps after my ovulation But my question is more about this third set of temps that I am seeing & I read about triphasic bbt chart's but there apparently kind of rare.... So I was curiouse what your expierence were

What can I do next?

Oh my gosh, it's so hard, but you just have to wait and see. It sounds like you've ovulated already (when your temps first rose). You may be pregnant with a tri-phasic chart... but you have to wait and see. By the way, it's totally normal to have a BBT of 97 pre-ovulation (that's about what mine were). Good luck getting pregnant. I hope it doesn't take too much longer.

The day after the dip was likely your ovulation. In the old days, the doctors said to have relations the day of the dip, just before ovulation. Good luck!

Go to the website www.fertilityfriend.com and do your charting there. Basic charting is free and for a small membership fee you'll get more detailed information. This will definitely help you when trying to determine your phases, shifts, etc.

I charted for 4 months and conceived on day 41 of my cycle. I knew I was pregnant when my bbt stayed high post-ovulation. I used the basic service from www.fertilityfriend.com and it was VERY helpful (I also had Weschler's book too).

The day your temperature rises is the day you ovulated. I charted my temps for several years, and saw all sorts of crazy changes as the months went by. It is so easy to read all sorts of things into the changes. ;)

The basic rule is your temp rises on the day you ovulate, and then stays high until you start your period. If it stays high for 18+ days, you are likley pregnant, and it will stay high throughout the pregnancy. After a few months of charting, you can predict the day you will start your period just by the temperature drop, even with no other warning signs.

The third set of temps all has to do with hormone changes and is quite fascinating to watch. Just count those days and wait for days 18 and beyond.

Baby dust to you!

I owuld suggest the ovulation predictor sticks.. they were $15 or so for 5 or so in the pack.. use them in the middle of the month.... maybe start day 13 if youhave a 28 day cycle??? once you get a+ on the ovulation sticks.. then youcan notice what other things are going on witha your body.. like cervical mucus.. mood.. cravings.. I only bought one pack of sticks.. now I know exactly when i am ovulating...
