Well, it's important to be in good shape physically when trying to conceive and especially to make sure you're getting plenty of folic acid prior to conception, but there's no vitamin that will make you get pregnant. Pick up some prenatal vitamins (a multi-vitamin) at the drugstore, a health or vitamin store or somewhere. You can get prenatal vitamins anywhere vitamins are sold, but make sure you look for good brands with no fillers or artificial ingredients and preservatives. Doctors can and do prescribe them, but I've had a number of doctors tell me there's not reason for it when you get the same thing OTC -unless you have an iron/anemia issue. So, go ahead and start taking them while you're trying to get pregnant.

Vitamins will not assist in conception. Vitamins will assist in the development of the fetus once you become pregnant and are crucial in the early weeks/months to avoid neural tube problems.

So, if you are wanting to have a baby start taking prenatal vitamins so that when you do get pregnant you will have all the right 'ingredients' to nourish a baby...but, taking the vitamins themselves will not get you pregnant.

You can get prenatal vitamins over the counter. It is a good idea to get a check up from your doctor and make sure if you take any medications regularly they are safe during pregnancy. Drinking, smoking and some medications are not recommended during pregnancy. There are tons of good books so try the library or bookstore.

Vitamins aren't the answer if you are having problems getting pregnant. You need to take good pre-natal vitamins once you are pregnant and you should be in good health prior to and during your pregnancy. If you are under 35 years of age and it's been over a year of trying, then you need to talk to your Dr, if you're over 35 and it's been over 6 months, then you need to see your Dr.
There is a lot of evidence that accupuncture by a well-trained accupuncturist can help with fertility. There are some teas and herbs that some people recommend, too.
Stay healthy, eat well, sleep well, de-stress and I hope you get pregnant soon!
Good luck,
E.
