Just a Question

Hi Ladies,
Has anyone ever took Geretol? What are they for and what do they do for you?Are there any side effects for them? The reason for the questions is my cousin and her sister-in-law took them and they got pregnant using them.Has anyone had any different experinces with them? Thanks for the advice.

What can I do next?

I had never heard about using Geretol as a fertility aid, but I heard a lady a work tell someone who was trying to get pregnant to use it. She did, and she got pregnant. My husband and I had been trying off and on for about 10 months, so I tried it also. We were pregnant within two months. I had already been taking a pre-natal vitamin. I have no idea if or why this works, but that is what happened. I had always thought it was a multivitamin primarily used by the elderly. When I did get pregnant, though, I definitely switched to the pre-natal vitamins prescribed by my doctor.

I think Geretol is just a multi vitamin for older people (ie geriatrics hence the name Geretol). If it's liquid form, I there's some alcohol in it but you'd need to look at the ingredients. I don't know if it would be much different from taking a multi or prenatal vitamin. I would stick to the prenatals though for the iron.

Geritol is a multi-vitamin that contains iron. It is for any age adult. There is no data that suggests it increases fertility, in fact the Geritol web site denies any such claim. I've always suffered from anemia and have taken Geritol most of my life for the additional iron supplement.

all I know that it gets you pregnant for many years.

Geretol is a vitamin, not a contraception.

Yes, a woman trying to get pregnent should take a good vitamin, and Geretol is a good one. Is that what you mean?

I am in my 30's and both my sister and all my friends have been taking geritol for a few years, I take it because its a gentle multi-vitamin with iron that doesn't up set my stomach and I feel great when I take them. I have never heard the claims of it helping women get pregnant. I would think the cause of pregnancy would be from something else not the geritol, just kidding congradulations to them both!!!
