I had never heard about using Geretol as a fertility aid, but I heard a lady a work tell someone who was trying to get pregnant to use it. She did, and she got pregnant. My husband and I had been trying off and on for about 10 months, so I tried it also. We were pregnant within two months. I had already been taking a pre-natal vitamin. I have no idea if or why this works, but that is what happened. I had always thought it was a multivitamin primarily used by the elderly. When I did get pregnant, though, I definitely switched to the pre-natal vitamins prescribed by my doctor.

I think Geretol is just a multi vitamin for older people (ie geriatrics hence the name Geretol). If it's liquid form, I there's some alcohol in it but you'd need to look at the ingredients. I don't know if it would be much different from taking a multi or prenatal vitamin. I would stick to the prenatals though for the iron.

Geritol is a multi-vitamin that contains iron. It is for any age adult. There is no data that suggests it increases fertility, in fact the Geritol web site denies any such claim. I've always suffered from anemia and have taken Geritol most of my life for the additional iron supplement.

GlaxoSmithCline the makers of Geritol have this to say about the vitamin:

Will the use of Geritol® increase my sex drive or fertility?
There's no evidence that Geritol® can increase fertility and we don't make that claim. We're not sure how the rumor got started, but there's no truth to it.

Don't know what to tell you about Geritol, other than I think it is a multi-vitamin that is formulated for seniors (55 and older, I think)
What I was writing to you about is what I read in your description about yourself...you said you would like to work but not for a paycheck, that you wanted to work for cash. Is that because you would like to get paid daily? If so, check this out: www.deliveringonthepromise.com/demo
This link is for a website that explains how I have been able to stay at home with my children...and I don't have to wait a week or two or a month to get paid, like traditional jobs...
Just thought you might be interested. If you have any questions, feel free to write me back at ____@____.com

Hope this helps!

Geritol is a multi-vitamin supplement meant for an older person ("geriatric" being the basis of the name). I seriously doubt that your cousin's and sister-in-law's pregnancy had anything whatsoever to do with taking Geritol. What on earth made them try it, and why do they think it had any affect at all? I've never heard of this! A vitamin supplement probably couldn't hurt if taken as advised, but it has a focus on needs other than those of young women of child-bearing years.

If you're trying to get pregnant, you'd be better off taking a quality pre-natal vitamin, which would include adequate levels of folic acid. This has been shown, when mothers have sufficient levels PRIOR to conception as well as during pregnancy, of lowering chances of having a child with neural tube defects such as spina bifida. I'm guessing Geritol doesn't focus on that particular issue!

Good luck.

I am in my 30's and both my sister and all my friends have been taking geritol for a few years, I take it because its a gentle multi-vitamin with iron that doesn't up set my stomach and I feel great when I take them. I have never heard the claims of it helping women get pregnant. I would think the cause of pregnancy would be from something else not the geritol, just kidding congradulations to them both!!!

Geretol is a vitamin, not a contraception.

Yes, a woman trying to get pregnent should take a good vitamin, and Geretol is a good one. Is that what you mean?

Geritol is an iron supplement, if I remember correctly. I wouldn't think it would have anything to do with someone getting pregnant. But, you never know.

I suppose you mean Geritol and it's a great, gentle, easily absorbed multi vitamin with extra iron and folic acid. It was specifically designed for elderly or aging. The original liquid form was very high in alcohol and was the basis of the old Lucille Ball skit Vitameatavegimen.

OK, the key ingredients for the pregnancy assist are iron and folic acid. ALL women that are in menstrating years should take folic acid supplements since it softens the lining of the uterus and makes menstrating and conceiving easier. Like a lot of mineral and vitamin components, some works better in conjunction with others. Like calcium and Vit D. and that may be the case with iron and folic acid (that's my own theory). If you're wanting to conceive, folic acid is a great supplement and can be found naturally in a lot of rich green, leafy vegetables and legumes (the same places we find iron). Good luck!

All Geritol is, is a multivitamin that you take every day. It cannot help you get pregnant... I don't know why people say that. I had a co-worker once that said if your tubes were tied, you could take it and you would get pregnant. No way, it's nothing but a vitamin.
