Hi L.! Well, I kind of just did it, and my daughter didn't even really notice. I started her training very early..at 15 months....and didn't ever push it..so it wasn't until she was 2 until she was really trained. We used to have to, sometimes, use a public restroom..so she had gone on a big potty before. I think for us, we went away, so she had to use a big potty for a few days...and then I just hid her little potty in the garage. After about a week home, she finally noticed, but didn't complain. One of the best things I did was buy her a step stool. Babies r us sells cute Baby Bjorns...but we bought a really cheap one at Walmart. Anyway, she LOVES that she can do they whole deal alone. From opening the toilet, to climbing up, to wiping and flushing. If you do not already have a stool, I would get one, so that she can be in control of things. For us it was totally not a big deal...and so I would say just go for it, she will probably not mind, and even enjoy going like mommy!

Try using a transition potty seat so it will look like her own personal big girl potty.

My daughters potty will fit the big toilet so I trained her by using her potty and the big toilet. Walmart sells portable potty seats.

as far as transitioning, I don't realy know if you have to transition. She understands you go potty in the toilet and I'm sure she knows that the big potty is a toilet as well. You may be surprised how easy it is. Do you use big potties in restaurants opr public places? One things I bought for a 2 year old son who was potty trained was a permanent toilet seat that has 3 lids, the first is a regular lid to shut the toilet, the second is a seat with a smaller whole so kids don't fall in or have to balance themselves with their hands, and the third is the regular seat for adults, and then it lifts completely up for the men! It is called the Kohler Family Toilet seat. It is awesome! I would recommend that so she can sit comfortably and then she won't be afraid of falling.
