Tooth Fairy - Bowling Green,KY

I know this has been asked before, but does anyone have any ideas/options other than the tooth fairy or what has the tooth fairy left your kids instead of money?

Hi L.,

This may be out of date, but Pokemon and Yu-gi-oh cards were very popular with my kids. Matchbox cars work well for boys. Barbies for girls. Lip gloss was popular with my daughter. My children were very impressed with the new Gold Dollar coins until they reached about 10, then not so much. Hope this helps.

ok, I know you were looking for something other than money, but the tooth fairy left my daughter a gold dollar, doesn't cost much um, a dollar and there was a trail of fairy dust going from the window to her pillow (glitter)-this was a bigger thrill to her! and a letter from the fairy saying how great she has been taking care of her teeth.-signed in fairy dust!

The tooth fairy only comes on Tuedays. That's more for me to remember to leave something. Even if the tooth comes out on Friday, we know to leave it on Tuesday (she's really busy). I've given sugarless gum, a small toy, a lighted tooth brush ...

My daughter is eight now. She still wants to "do" the toothfairy stuff.

We have always given our children one sagajewea gold dollar coin per tooth. I have heard of people giving books and toys. Sometimes I know when our children have a loose tooth and sometimes they have not said anything until it comes out. Try to do something that you can always do even if you have no advance notice and something that you can afford to do for all of your children. One tooth came out while our daughter was sleeping - we have never found it. Another time both of our children lost a tooth on the same day. I did personally sew a small tooth fairy pillow for both of my children. Good luck.

L., I agree with some of the others that the tooth fairy has to leave money! It doesn't have to be alot, when my girls were small they would get 2 quarters. It was always so much fun for them! They loved telling their teachers at daycare and their friends. Once they were older it became a dollar...just a warning...my cousin left a 5 for her son, he came running in the next morning and said "ahha"! You're the tooth fairy....she tried to play it off but he showed her where he had written on the five and then gave it to her for a game he had wanted....was the same 5 dollar bill! LOL! It was funny, and he was almost 12 so really was past time for him to know. Anyway, hope this helps and when my girls were small, the quarters always ended up on the floor or in their pants pockets, forgotten, so the tooth fairy was usually paid back...lol

Well um no. The tooth fairy leaves .50 at our house. I know a mom who gave one of her kids a skateboard and other expensive toys. She also left $5-%10 under the pillow if they didn't get a toy. Kids are just excited about the idea that some fairy came in and took their tooth and they got a something. Whatever you do keep it very simple.

a gift card to a resturant that you all enjoy going to, and then you kiddo can take you all out b/c the tooth fairy left him money to pay for dinner with. My toddler loves to "pay" when we go out.
