Toddler Undereye Dark Circles?

Hi there, I was wondering if any of you have seen this before, my toddler daughter recently got over a cold, and for the past three days has had slight undereye dark circles, but with a little redness under one eye. Three days ago her teacher said she was itching her eye but I haven't seen her rubbing it since. It was less bad yesterday but now it's back. The whites of her eyes are clear and there's no discharge. Should I be worried? I may not be able to get her to a doctor 'til Saturday because hubby has my car for his work. Thanks for any advice or reassurance you may have for me. *Peace*, ~m.

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone... I called my baby's pediatric nurse who told me the dark circles can be because of congestion left over from her cold, and to wait a couple of days because it might clear up on its own. If it's not gone by this weekend I'll take her to the doctor, she otherwise seems fine, just has a runny nose at times. Many thanks to you all, *Peace*!

Get her on probiotics --NOW!!!!
Immunity starts in the gut. Activia or one of those several times a day. Plenty of fiber--prunes and veggies. An out of balance system can get constipated from yogurt for a few days.

Good luck and God bless,

I would take her in as darkness is not just an indicator of lack of sleep~

There could be an allergy, but there could be something else and it's best to be safe.

I know you already wrote an update to your post. But I had to add, like all the others, that your daughter may have allergies. Both my sons (3.5 y/o and 4.5 y/o) have multiple allergies, but my youngest one mostly as he's still on hypoallergenic formula. They are allergic to almost everything so they often get the dark circles under their eyes, with some redness and itchiness at times too. Frequently, symptoms of a cold are similiar to symptoms of allergies. You can easily get a blood allergy test done for food and respiratory allergies as well as drug allergies through your Pediatrician. Just remember though, there's some accuracy in the results but not as accurate as a skin allergy test (which she would be too young for right now as a toddler). Hope everything works out. Take care.
