Do you tip at all-inclusive resorts? DH and I are going soon. He says no, it's included and not expected. I just feel bad when I don't tip for good service.

What can I do next?

We went to an all-inclusive in the Turks and Caicos islands. We left our housekeeper a tip every day ($5.00), and our mini-fridge was fully stocked with water and beer every day. She left extra treats for our kids, too.

We also tipped for exceptional service. Sure, it's not expected, but it sure makes their day. They work hard, so we show our appreciation!

Take a look at the website b/c tipping is not "included"- the staff are paid their salary, but there isn't an "added bonus" for them at the end of the week. It's not expected, but it's certainly appreciated.

I will tell you this... if you tip your waitress and bartender well the first night or two, your drinks will be waiting for you and you will be tended-to first if you need something. I was a waitress at the same little restaurant for three years in grad school and the same little old couple came in every night for dinner at the same time- ordered the same things- and talked to me about the same damn topics. Of course, when they arrived their glasses of wine and appetizers were ready and I talked with them for hours about nothing. Why?? Yes, I am a very nice person, but they also left me a huge tip each night and gave me a massive discount at the hotels that they owned when my family was in town.

If you can afford it tip- not "overly generously" b/c that's not necessary, but a little "thanks" is never inappropriate!

DH and I DO ! We are just "givers" especially if our service is Great :-) like Krista P said - on the First night or two we TIP WELL (if we really enjoy the server/service) and Sure enough - The next time were down there at the Bar, or on the beach.....our drinks (towels, etc) were waiting for us, or they 'search us out' to help/wait on us! I honestly dont think you "have to" its your personal choice - WE choose to ! HAVE A FUN TRIP

Tips are always welcomed even at an all-inclusive, unless otherwise stated.

We did tip our maids at the end of the week and tipped our bartenders and wait staff. The one resort we went to, only dinner was waiter service, all other times was buffet, so we only tipped at night. Tipping does lead to better service because most people go to all-inclusives don't tip or tip very little.

I am definitely no expert, but I think you are supposed to. We went on a cruise once, which was all inclusive and the cruise ship actually gave us envelopes for everybody (maid, servers in the restaurant, etc) so we could put our tips in there. There may be travel websites that could help with this, I'm not sure though.
Have a great trip!!
