Tick Treatment at House

Hi Moms,

I found 2 ticks on my bathroom wall and a tick on my dog today. I'm SO grossed out! We've lived here for 9 years and I've never seen a tick before.
I called a place immediately. They are coming out to quote me tomorrow. I've never done a tick treatment in my house. Has anyone else? What did it run you? I don't want to go into this blindly and not have an estimated price in my head.
Thanks!

What can I do next?

You have a dog. Do you treat the dog? Dogs get ticks. Fact of life. Why
Would you call someone to do the house. Your dog will still get them. My dogs gets ticks. Sorry to say but you are wasting your money. Just treat your dog.

You live inFlorida. I would think ticks would be the least of your problem.
Snakes, alligators etc. now that would be an issue. Ticks not so much.

Not sure how the ticks were on the wall, unless of course they are blood filled, but Patty K is right. Treat your dog, that's were the problem is. I found a tick on my dog last week, a dog who has never had them before, unlike my other dog who they have always liked. She's been treated, along with the other dogs, and that's all that can really be done, along with regular checks.

You know, I would have agreed with the other responses before learning of my sister's tick problem. When she lived in Florida, her house was *infested* with ticks. I didn't even know that was possible - around here, they're just carried on pets and sometimes people but they're not just hanging around the house. She moved her sofa and there were hundreds of them on her floor, scurrying around. They were all over her house. Shudder. That was actually the last straw for her that made her move back here (there were 9 million other reasons for her to move that were much more serious). She left all of her furniture behind because she was afraid of bringing it with her.

Anyway...I think y'all might have a different breed of ticks in FL. I have no idea what an extermination will cost.

OMGosh! You are stronger than I am! I would have run screaming and had the heebie jeebies for years. I HATE ticks. Snakes, rats, all that other stuff, ok, but TICKS...even thinking about it icks me out so bad I cant sit still
As per your story and J.B.s, I will NEVER move to Florida. NEVER!

Good Luck, I hope it's not too expensive. (((cringe, shudder, shudder)))
