Moms, what are you getting your mothers for mothers day? I'm on a budget- I have about $100 to spend on my Mom, my husband's Mom, and my grandmother (gramma lives across the country from me) for the occasion. My Mom is recently divorced and kind of lonely so I would like it to be extra special. I didn't want to have flowers delivered... I'm not really a fan of flowers myself. Any ideas??

What can I do next?

She would most likely want to spend time together, I would think. One year I didn't have much money and had my daughter toddling around, so we went to the store and bought a couple plants and some stuff to make sun tea and took it all over to my mom's house and spend the afternoon planting with her and then enjoyed the sun tea that we made. I hate to garden but my mom loves it. She still thinks that was one of the best mother's Days.

Spending time with them is always a good option, but if you want to give them something, this is one of my favorite ideas, and for all three, would still fall well within your budget. I looked back through your posts, and see that you have 2 girls of perfect ages for this project.

Get 3 canvasses from a craft store, like Michaels. You can get whatever size you like and fits within your budget. Get a bunch of colors of acrylic paints (they're like $1 a bottle), and several different paint brushes, sponges, rollers, etc.

Let your daughters 'artistically' cover the canvasses with paints, using a mix of colors, just make sure at least most of the canvas is covered. Let it dry. Then have each girl dip their hands in white paint, and put their handprints on the painted canvas. Let that dry. If you want to seal it all off, you can buy a spray sealer at the craft store, which is usually right with all the paint supplies. Then write your daughter's names and ages on the back.

(Tip: If you mess up the handprints - my son wiggled one of his hands and it messed up the print - you can wipe off the excess white paint, then let it dry. Then you can just have your daughter paint over the messed up handprint area with the paint colors she originally used, then allow to dry, and re-do the handprint.)

My son did this for both of his grandmothers for mother's day a couple years ago, and they both LOVED it. They both have theirs hanging in their homes, and honestly, they really do look lovely.

As a mom myself I don't prefer pricey gifts. How about one of those picture frames that you can record the kids voices on? I have my 4 yo's voice as my ringtone on my phone and even though I'm with him every day, hearing that little voice just makes me smile!

Framed pictures-or just a card-my youngest son gave me a card three years ago, after his father died-and I have carried it with me everyday since then. God bless you, Sweetheart!

Why dont you take your Mom out for a special lunch? Then go get a pedicure as a girls day. Always fun.

Or how about getting Professional Photos of the kids? Then put them in nice frames and give them to the Mom's and Grandma.

I am going to lunch and a movie with my Mom as her gift. Otherwise, I just send everyone a card. My husband will be taking the kids to my MIL's while I am gone.

It's probably kind of late to do this. But on most photo print websites you can make gifts with your pictures. I've done little brag books, picture mugs/coffee thermos, collages, and coasters (actually a fathers day gift for hubby).

Did you see the sweet deal for personalized jewlery? I really wanted the 3 stack ring with each of my kids names on it, but it was $98. If you buy the deal, I think you get $20 off.
If I had $100 to spend I think I would buy jewelry or a gift certificate for a massage and mani pedi.
