We are planning a 7-10 day vacation for next summer. So... We are looking for things to see and do in NH, or maybe VT. The only definate part is going to Cannon Mt. and Mt. Washington in NH. One thought was was maybe going to Hampton Beach. Another was going to the Ben & Jerry's Factory. Do you have any reccomendations?

p.s. As to where we are staying, the only thing that has been decided is that we will be taking our RV.

What can I do next?

Where are you staying? When we go to NH or Maine we rent a house on a lake and then plan on a couple of days of water sports - we rent a boat, a tube, jet skis, etc. Definitely plan on a say (or part of the day) at StoryLand in North Conway. You can do that the same day you do Mt. Washington. Smugger's Notch in Vermont has a lot of fun family activities too, especially the water park. In NH, Lake Winnipesaukee has a lot of things to do - there's Weirs Beach, the Weirs Beach water slides, etc.

There's New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Mt. Washington (good choice!), The Mall of New Hampshire, among others! Manchester, at the southeastern tip of the state, has some AWESOME concerts! I would look at the schedule for next year on that. Canobie Park is great too. I live in the next state over, so we always hear about stuff going on in NH. Have a good time!

Hi! If you are going to make your way to the beach then you should also make your way to Portsmouth and visit Strawbery Banke http://www.strawberybanke.org/
Portsmouth also has a great summer line up of events at Prescott Park.
And if you are there you should make your way to the Kittery Trading Post and Yummies's just up the road.
There's baseball in Manchester and Nashua.
All kinds of hiking and boating opportunities up here by Mt Washington and don't forget to take a cruise on the Mt Washington on Lake Winnepesaukee.
Ben and Jerry's is a fun tour and any excuse to have ice cream is a good excuse!
My mind is now a blank - my son just came to tell me my muffler fell off!
Have fun---

It's been quite a few years since I've spent some time in NH, but we go to VT often. Here are a few things on the eastern side, not too far from the NH border.

Montshire Museum in Norwich, VT, not far from White River Junction. Here's the website http://www.montshire.org. We used to take the girls when they were younger. It's a great place for kids ages 5 to 10. Lots to do inside and out. It's a fun, educational experience. Bring a picnic lunch.

Queechee Gorge is worth a visit. If you like to hike, there's a path to walk down to the bottom. It's a steep climb back up.

If you're interested in raptures (hawks, eagles, owls), you'll enjoy the Vermont Institute of Natural Sciences in Queechee, VT.

I've never been, but I've heard the Billings Farm and Museum in excellent.

In VT or NH, stop at a maple sugar farm. There won't be much going on since the syrup is made in the spring, but you can see the equipment and learn about the process. Some farms will give you guided tours.

Vermont state parks have the cleanest campgrounds. The sites are also quite large. The only drawback is no hookups. We've never stayed at a state park with electricity.

You might like to drive up the coast from Hampton Beach to go Outlet shopping at Kittery Maine, or eat lobster at Newick's in Concord(lobster tails are the best!) In Vermont, a stop at the Vermont Country Store is fun and they have the best dark chocolate and nut candies:0)
