Hello, We are still new to the area and my husband has the whole week of Christmas off, are there any good websites that list what is going on for this weekend next week and next weekend? Also, I am looking for a good meat market. I know there are some places in Fort Worth, but they seem to only be steaks. We want a little of everything, We are BIG chicken eaters. Any Suggestions? Hi M. and welcome to Dallas. Ther are several ways to learn about Dallas. First, look in the Dallas Morning News and get "The Guide", a magazine in Friday and Sunday paper that list the latest things to do and restaurants by food types. They even rate the restaurants.
Second, go to www.guidelive.com to learn what is happening and where. There is also dallascvb.com , dallasdinesout.com and many other listings if you google "dallas guide".
These sources will list events, entertainments, dining, drinking and for now - where to go to see Christmas lights.

Ive heard really good things about Hirsch's Meat Market. I usually go to Whole Foods for my meats - they have the best chicken I have ever tasted and just about any type of meat you can imagine. And the staff is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. I go to the one in Plano on Park and Preston.

Hirsch's Meat Market in Plano. Locally owned, Gary and Nancy Hirsch. They are located on the NE corner of Parker/Alma. We have done business with them since they opened years ago. Great reputation. They have the BEST steaks but also offer good cuts of pork and chicken. He just started some seafood as well. They have a website and monthly newsletter as well. Central Market probably has the best meat in the area. The Dallas location is at Lover's and Greenville. There is one in North Dallas right off the G. Bush Turnpike too.

For meats, I would suggest Central Market. You can get anything you need from seafood flown in daily to steak. They have a lot of organic foods too.

Try Rudolph's Meat Market. They have been around I believe since the 1940's. It is wonderful. I know they have several, but not sure where. We go to the one in Dallas in the Deep Ellum area. It is great!
