I have a friend visiting from England and would like to find some entertaining things for her to do. I was thinking of a trail ride - do you have any recommendations for a beautiful trail ride? Any other suggestions for things to showcase our town?

What can I do next?

I took a horseback ride with some out of town friends somewhere by South Mountain. We just went along the foothills. We did see a bobcat which was pretty neat. The Desert Botanical Garden is great and as someone else has mentioned the Heard Museum. Montezuma's Castle(cliff dwelling) is great. It is right off I-17 on the way up to Sedona, and it doesn't take long to see.

I dont know any trail rides, but here are some things we do with visitors. Go up to Jerome, really cool to see and drive is nice. Sedona is beautiful and if its after JAn there maybe snow, you can also stop at Oak Creek Canyon and the church in the hills up there, and you have to get ice cream at The Black Cow. The Frank Lloyd Wright Museum in Scottsdale is really amazing. The tour is interesting and the structures are really cool. The stadium doen in Tempe is neat and downtown Tempe is fun to walk through. The weather is perfect to hike the White Tanks Mnts and if there is any rain the waterfall is beautiful. Also hiking any mnt is nice right now and veiws are incredible. Hope this helped and if I think nof anything else I will let you know :) Have fun

Do you mean horseback ride? I don't know a lot about that. Carefree, Cave Creek have places like that. There is also the Verde Canyon railroad just north of town that I've heard is fun and nice. Hike Camelback Mtn. Take her to mex food places... Los Dos Molinos, Carlsbad Tavern, Dicks Hideaway (since Richardson's burned down, this is the same, but smaller), Los Sombreros. Pedregal in north north Scottsdale, near the Boulders resort is nice, and there is a little off shoot of the Heard Museum there (or was last time I was there).
