The Movie Fireproof

I have seen the first half hour or so of this movie and it was pretty good. My husband and i are going through a very rocky time in our marriage right now. We do not have a dvd player that works at this time (i saw the movie on cable), and i have heard good things about this movie acually helping a marriage. I dont know what to do anymore, but i keep trying to make things work. We have 2 kids together and i dont want them to have split family. I also know there is only so much i can do. My husband isnt really willing to do much of anything to help. Anyways, i was just wondering if any one can tell me what was done each day in the movie? I know the first day was basically biting your tounge and not saying anything about something you normally would. Day 2 was asking if his wife needed anyting, etc. I think i only saw through day 3. If anyone knows all 40 days that would be wonderful. Like i said we do not have a working dvd player at this time to rent it. Right now i dont know what to do, so i thought i would maybe give this a try.

thanks!!

What can I do next?

Just buy the book, the love dare, it has day by day stuff in it. Personally I thought it was a hokey movie - In the beginning, even though the woman is wooing another man, it is made out it is the husbands fault for everything because he is a bit moody. It is a very one sided movie.

After you watch that and do the things in the book, whether your husband does or not, I would recommend the movie by the same people called 'Courageous'. Its also very good. You can get the Love Dare book on Amazon used for $3.00.

Google "Love dare" and you should be able to find all the "dares" for each day.

If you can't find it online the actual book is sold in Christian book stores. The basics are simply showing that you actually want to have a servant's heart. The book goes through 40 days but the movie shows that it took him more than that to get to the point where she noticed and accepted his motives. The concept is great but please know that it may take much more time to come to an amiable conclusion.

My prayers are with you! God bless!

I saw the movie once...but it was too long ago to remember.
It sounds like the book (that the movie was based on...or visa versa) would be helpful to you: http://www.amazon.com/Love-Dare-Stephen-Kendrick/dp/08054...
I hope this helps.
Commit it to God. And pray like crazy.
Hugs.

I haven't watched it, but I know that there's a book that goes with it. I haven't read it but I've seen it around at different stores. I'd suggest the book so you can have it with you when you need it instead of needing to refer to the movie. Sorry I couldn't help more; best wishes!

It's a good movie for guys to watch because it's simplistic, touching and entertaining and shows how a guy can actually TRY to heal a marriage, something they wont' usually want to hear from a therapist or book. Get a DVD player, and get yourself the book...but no matter how good advice may be form any source, your husband would have to be on board with working on things.
