The 17 Day Diet

Has anyone tried this diet? I really don't understand the "eating plan" - how rigid is it (meaning how hard is it to follow)? I saw it advertised for $20 (book and DVD), but hate to waste $20 just out of curiosity. I only want to lose another 5-10 lbs, but wondering if something like this could help me reach that goal.

Anyone who can tell me what they think of this, I'd love your thoughts.

What can I do next?

My mom is doing it right now. She has lost 6 pounds in 7 days. She tells me what she is eating and it all sounds really good. All sorts of chicken and fish, so it doesnt sound like she is depriving herself. Once she is done I am going to borrow the book and try it too. Hope this helps :)

I had really good luck with the Fat Smash Diet similar I think but not sure. Lost 6 lbs in the first week and 3 in the second. The diet is very open (very little imo that you can't eat) but the 1st 2 days were killer, then after that I was fine. LOTS of veggies, fruit and meat. No carbs except rice the 1st week, then they are reintroduced...I LOVE the way it's laid out and tell you EXACTLY what to eat each day but it's up to you what you pick (Ex. day 1: breakfast: 1 piece of fruit, 1 cup oatmeal, Lunch: 1 cup brown rice (there are substitutions for rice too), 1 cup veggies, etc. - I usually made stir fry type veggies as you can have soy sauce and stuff still...) good luck!

My friend did this and bought me the book for Christmas. It is a little "not for me" per say. But she lost 9 lbs in 15 days. Pretty quick results...but she gained it right back after the holidays. Something to really stick with and wean yourself off.

the point of this is that you eat ridgidly for 17days then you completely change how you eat again for the next 17days so on and so fourth. Visit the doctor's website and Dr Phil's site they both are doing a contest together on this program. It is just too darn rigid honestly I could not keep up with it. I like the receipes from Cook Yourself Thin and if you ONLY eat from the two cook books they have out and add in physical activity you can eat well and loose the weight but it will not be radical or terribly quick in my opinion.
