Teething Problems

My 13 month old is having problems with teething. For the last 4 nights she has been upt every 1-2 hours. she is not hungry just screams. i have used tylenol, motrin and humphresys. i am curious if anyone uses oragel or any of those products with any success. we are exhausted and dont' know what to do to get her out of this pattern.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

thank you for all your advise. i looked for hylands and couldn't find it. so i just got more humphreys. i ended up taking her to the dr and her ears were clear. she did have a red throat but not strep. she slept a little beter last night. so i guess i am going to chalk this one up to teething/growth spurt/seperation anxiety.

Dear L.,
I remember those nights like yesterday!! I used mostly Hyland's Teething Tablets(they are softer and dissolve right away) and sometimes Tylenol at night. Oragel never worked for us. At 13 months is when my son's behavior started to go downhill. He was a super sleeper then he woke up at night. It could be something more than teething: sore throat, ear infection. Good luck. K.

I am also a SAHM, I live in Valrico, I used this topical called Hurricane, you have to ask for it over the counter, I know the Walgreens on Bell Shoals & Bloomingdale carries it, it's about $9 & you don't have to use much, it taste like that topical the dentist puts on your gums b-4 he gives you the shot. I used this about 7 years ago on my other daughter, my 2 year old didn't seem to have any problems, luckily. Give her a teethng ring also, I used the one that vibrates when they bite on it, it massages their teeth, they have them at Walmart. Hope this helps!!!

I swear by the orajel teething stuff. And I really like the night time formula that they have out now. They didn't have that when my son was teething. It really gets my 11 month old daughter through the night.

Teething Tablets (about $6 at Walmart.) I just started using these on my 7 month old and they work great! Sometimes I also use orajel along with the tablets. The tablets don't do much for us adults (unless you take like 20!) But, for the kids you only need 3 and there are 125 in the bottle. They quickly disolve under their tongue (if you can get it under there.) Good luck--may you soon have sleep filled nights!

I used Hyland's teething tablets, too. They are for teething and loss of sleep due to teething. You can give 2-3 every couple hours, too.
