Anyone else taking YAZ? I haven't gotten my period in 3 months, and I am scared to death of getting pg again. My hubby jusy got a vasectomy a month ago, but I am still worried. I have been on BCPs most of my adult life, and my periods have always been very light, but never disappeared.

What can I do next?

Hi C.,

I had SUCH problems w/yaz! I was fine for the first3 months, then I started spotting midcyle. Then I would have either no period, or a very very long and heavy one. I have since switched twice (b/c of my endometriosis)but I do know that my periods were crazy on yaz. The only thing it helped me with was pain from endo. Good luck and I would recommend switching. Feel better!

Hi C.. What else can we talk about?? :+) I have been taking Yaz also and I haven't had a period in 2 months. I have had some breakthrough bleeding, but no actual period. My doc told me that it's common to have that happen and may be that I need a different hormone level (because of the b/through bleeding).

Hi I have not taken birth control. But one thing I know is your not suppose to take birth control continues. This put your body in a state in which it think it's going thru menopause. You could detox your system of all the the chemicals that has made your body not function normally. By detoxing you cleanse your system and take control of way it's ment to preform . Is you needs any suggestion You can e-mail me at ____@____.com

YAZ is known to cause women to have periods like every 3 months or so... if you haven't got it yet - Don't worry! The other thing is if normally you have really light periods then you may not get a period at all.... it still is something worth mentioning to your physician the next time you see them or if you make it 6 months without a period at all! Hope this helps!

Hi C.,
That is an awesome side affect to YAZ...many women don't get their periods on it. (I work at a OB/GYN office). However, some ladies don't like not getting it, kinda like you. They simply need that period to know they also are not pregnant. You can always call your doctor and ask to switch pills so you will get a period on something else. (Loestrin 24 works the same way as YAZ, so I wouldn't bother trying that one either for you) But...try to relax. Once your husband gets the all clear from his doctor, you just may like not having that period after all! Good Luck!

Hi C.,

I've been taking YAZ for about a year now and my period has come every single month...except last month. I also had breakthrough bleeding if I took the pill more than 2 hours late. I was due again on Wednesday and today's Friday with nothing happening so I'm not sure what the deal is. It's a bit strange that after a year my period suddenly stopped coming, particularly when I'm going to start trying in a couple of months for baby number 3. Anyway, if my period doesn't come before Monday then I'll be calling my obgyn. If they tell me anything interesting I'll be sure to let you know.

Best,
M..

Hi C..
I am on YAZ.....it is not the BCP that prevents periods. You should get a period every month, even if it is just one day.
I believe the BCP that everyone is referring to is Seasonale??? 4 periods a year. While it may be normal to skip, I have not had that happen. Once you finish a pack, you should bleed a few days later and then start a new pack again.
Check with your doctor and good luck!

I am on the Depro Provera shot and my period stopped after the first shot(which is unusual). I haven't gotten a period since. Took a pregnancy test the first time, now I don't even think about it.

As for the perfect part time job...I have been a stay at home Mom for 6 years now and was looking for something to get me out of the house a little, while making some extra money. Almost 2 years ago, I started selling Lia Sophia jewelry, and I love it! I make GREAT money, work the hours I want to work and enjoy what I do! If you are interested, take a look at my website...www.Liasophia.com/Janicestrassburger. there is no start up cost, I would sponser your starter kit. Take a look, it's a great alternative to an $8 an hour part time job!!!

Hi C.,

I'm like you. I need to get that monthly period so that I know I'm not pregnant. I don't worry about it while I'm nursing and taking Micronor though so I don't know why it bothers me when I am taking regular birth control. :-|

Definitely make sure your husband goes for his follow-up. Lord knows there have been many surprises after vasectomies and tubals.

As for finding the perfect part time job, I am sure you are getting flooded with opportunity messages. There are a lot of wonderful businesses out there. Have you thought about taking that route?

I have a 7 1/2 year old, 4 1/2 year old, and almost 9 month old. I began looking for work to do from home when I was almost due with my oldest. I tried a lot of things to no avail but have to say Arbonne has been the answer to my family's prayers in a lot of ways already. It is also the only company that I have promoted with, had consultants I have coached promote, as well as received a 1099 for! If you'd like to learn more about us, please feel free to visit my site at http://APerfectMoment.MyArbonne.com.

I wish you the best!

I think that they are supposed to disappear all together for 3 months at a time and then you would get it on the fourth month. If I'm not mistaken, when you take YAZ you get your period 3-4 times a year. If you are worried...take a pregnancy test or call your Dr. and ask them if what you are experiencing is normal.

I also have a 9 month old and stopped breastfeeding about 6 weeks ago. I was taking the mini pill while breastfeeding and for a few weeks afterward, and never got my period. I have done extensive internet research (I have taken a pregnancy test about every three weeks I am as nervous as you) and no one seems to definitivly say that 4 week active pills supress your period--but i also read the packet that comes with the pills and it says it can happen.
While I don't think it is common, it definitely does happen. I recently switched back to regular combo pills and I hopefully will get my first postpartum period in 10 dyas or so.
also keep confident in the fact that you have been pregnant before and that as long as you don't feel pregnant you probably aren't.
good luck!!

I would call your doctor today. You do not need your hormones all mixed up. I might also buy a home pregnacy test to get piece of mind. Often when you start new meds, are really tired or stressed your cycle can change.
I would love to talk with you about opportunities that would provide income without having to leave your children in daycare. It is also a way to network with some great people. It can get lonely being a mother of young children! Let's talk ____@____.com ###-###-####.
