My daughter went through that phase, too. I just put clothing on her that made it hard for her to get to her diaper. It was a short phase that didn't last long, thankfully! I like the panty idea and the diaper-on-backward idea, too, although I never tried those they sound like they would work too. Good luck! :)

I agree with the last poster. If she's taking her diaper off, chances are she's ready! Just go buy a little potty and have her sit on it when she takes it off. Even if she's not ready yet, it'll be good practice for when she is. Good luck!

When our daughter was placed with us (we just adopted her) she used to get into her diaper at night. She had to sleep in a onesie under her pj's so she couldn't get in there. Maybe wearing a onesie all the time will help?

My friend puts on panties on top of the diaper... It makes it a little bit harder to take the diaper off... Hope that helps... I was lucky with my kids and they didnt do that... I have met many people who's kids do though... I thought the panties idea sounded good...

My toddler did this for a while and would make a mess! We stopped it by wrapping tape around the waist of it. After a while, we tried without the tape and she hasn't taken it off since! The only time she even starts to is when we are about to change her. I think taping it on simply helped her to make sure to let us know when she needed changed.

I'm sorry to say but, that absolutely is not a "sign" that she is ready to be potty trained. I'm not saying she isn't. That just isn't a sign. Put her diaper on backwards. They are the same front or back.

Does she take it off after she's gone potty or even if it's dry? Either way, she maybe ready to potty train.

I agree that she may be ready to potty train. My daughter was a little older; however, I have a friend who had a little girl who was only a year old and doing the same thing. She put regular panties on during the day and her daughter quickly took to the potty because she did not like it on her skin and legs. At night they still used pull ups but by a year and a couple months she was complete potty trained. If this is the case with your daughter then it could be a blessing to get her to use the potty sooner and you wont have to buy diapers anymore :)

My daughter still does this!!! I actually asked a question like this before. Advice: Put clothes one her for bed all the time. Once she figures out how to take them off, non-footed sleepers turned backwards. When all fails, duct tape! We use it and it works wonders!!! Just make sure not to make contact with her skin! It is definitely NOT a sign that she is ready to potty train. I have been putting my 2 year old on the toilet since she started this and she is no closer to learning how to use the potty than she was at the start. Hope this helps! L.

I agree with starting potty training and even if she isn't really ready it will be good practice.

My daughter was potty trained at 18 months and she pretty much did it herself with a little help to get her started.

I don't agree that she is ready to PT-she just turned one and I really don't think 1 yo's can consistently monitor their ability to go potty.
Both my kids yanked off diapers, too. When they started, I just switched to pull up type diapers- she won't be able to get them down and you won't have a mess!
Good luck!

A friend recommended I try the Little Keeper Sleeper to solve this problem of taking off their diaper and clothes. I'm glad I did because this zippered back sleeper works GREAT. Their locking system and non-stretchable made sure my little Houdini could not get out and the long zipper in the back made changing a snap. This sleeper is a sanity saver. I got it from their website www.littlekeepersleeper.com

does she just do it to be doing it or is she wet and not liking it. Try the potty. She'll feel like a big girl. everytime you go, take her with you. My grand-daughter was potty trained at nine months. These babies have been here before and are very wise. Keep up with her, she may be trying to let you k now she doesn't like to be wet is all. let me know what you do, oki?

Don't feel bad my lil boy is 2 and still takes his diaper off and even if u do put pants on him he knows how to take those off too. The only thing I can suggest is try putting on like 2 pairs of pants or try to find pj's that have a top that snaps to the bottoms.
