Swollen Feet - Rush City,MN

I woke up this morning with extreme foot pain. My right foot is a little swollen and hurts so bad that I have to walk on the side of my foot (It hurts on the flat part of my foot underneath my toes... Not my heel, or the indent, but that other part). My left foot isn't swollen and doesn't hurt quite as bad, but it still hurts. I did go to the fair yesterday, so I was walking a lot. However, I'm a cashier, so I'm used to standing/walking for long periods at a time. Plus, I go to the fair every day every year (My family shows some animals there). My feet never get this way after wards, even last year when I was in my late second/early third trimester of pregnancy.

If you read my last post, you'll know that even though the chances of me really being pregnant are VERY slim, at the moment I can't shake the feeling that I am pregnant. If I am pregnant, I know that swollen feet are a sign of something bad (I can't remember what).

I'm wondering if this is something my mind is doing to my body, since I keep thinking that I'm pregnant... Or if there is something wrong. I can't afford to go to the ER right now and since that is the only thing open on a Sunday, I can't do anything until tomorrow. Should I worry? Or try not to, since I'm most likely not pregnant?

What can I do next?

If you're pregnant, your feet very likely would not be swelling yet. That's typically something that happens later in pregnancy and is a sign of pre-eclampsia or toxemia (if high blood pressure and/or protein in the urine are also there...if not, then it's just swollen feet).

I doubt your mind is doing it to your body. I think it's probably doing it for some real reason. Do you have high blood pressure or diabetes? I know things can happen to the feet if you have diabetes. Or if it's just super hot out there, it can be from the heat from the day before. Did you injure your foot? I don't know how old you are, but your body can react to things differently as you age. It sounds like an actual injury to me. It could be a stress injury or something from all the walking you've done. I'd give it a couple days and see if it gets better. Maybe it needs some rest. If it doesn't get better, or if it starts hurting a lot more, I'd go see the dr. FEEL BETTER!! And, I hope you end up prego soon if you aren't already (if you want to be, I haven't' read your other post).

calm down, breathe, stress can make it worse!!! my feet got so swollen with my first pregnancy that i had to buy shoes almost 2 sizes bigger and still couldnt tie them...the swollen feet, whether pregnant or not, could be a sign of fluid retention, high blood pressure. those are the two i know of, probably could be indicitive of something else but i'm not sure. i wouldnt think your feet would swell in early pregnancy, but everyone is different. i say chill for now and go to the doc tomorrow. can you get an OTC pregnancy test??? even the dollar store or the dollar tree stores carry them.

***EDIT***
i just glanced briefly on a few of your past posts and it seems you have been thinking you may possibly be pregnant for a few months now...take a pregnancy test!!!!!

I told you before you can talk yourself into anything...you may or not be pregnant...you need to go to a doctor. You can't afford a doctor visit - I got that - so today - you either call in sick to work - prop your feet up and wait until tomorrow to go to your doctor.

I really don't want to be mean here. But girl - you are young...while you are trying to be responsible for yourself and your son - you are working...and you have the depo shot - the fact remains that you should not be having sex. PERIOD. That's the best way NOT to get pregnant and to be assured YOU WILL NOT GET PREGNANT. If you cannot afford it - handling the adult consequences of adult actions - you should NOT be having sex.

1. you need to find out WHY you faint.
2. You cannot afford to have a baby right now...you can't even afford the one you have...
3. it's the ARCH of your foot - not the indent. You could have falling arches from wearing flimsy shoes with no support during the day...
4. if you have gained weight lately - then your feet could be swelling from the excess weight (I see by your pic you are tiny - so even 5 lbs can make a difference on the ARCH of a foot..)

If your feet are still swollen after propping them up for at least 1 hour - then yeah - I'd go to the ER...you will need to drink plenty of water - NO SODA and eat healthy - no fast food.
