Spotting - Saint Paul,MN

I know that I am being silly and should jsut take a test, but I can't handle the disappointment of seeing just one line on the stick right now. So, I would like to know if any of you have expeienced this: I have a long, but regular 33 day cycle. Day 33 was Saturday. I usually begin to lightly spot the day before my period is to begin, which I did on Friday (day 32). Since then nothing has happened. I keep thinking it will begin at any second now, which I am sure it will. But, being two days late, I can't help but hope that we are pregnant. But then I tell myself that I was spotting on Friday, so my body is just a little slow this month- I couldn't possibly have spotted at exactly the same time I do every month and be pregnant, could I? Of course not...but maybe? I will take the test in a couple of days if nothing happens, but like I said, I hate the negative tests and I am sure I will get it soon.

I guess this is a very long winded way of asking if anyone has spotted, but was still pregnant? Any advice or experience is very welcome.

Thanks!

It is perfectly normal to spot right around the time you should be getting your period. It is called "implantation" bleeding. It is when the fetus attaches itself to the uterine wall. I will keep my fingers crossed for you but I am pretty sure you are pregnant.

Hi R.! I am in the same situation at this very moment which is why I thought I'd quick write you an e-mail. I'm waiting to test and have been having spotting for the last 12 hours. I have a test tucked away in my closet and am having to sit on my hands to not go get it. LOL!

I did want to tell you that during my first pregnancy I did have spotting for quite awhile both during my first missed period and throughout the early part of my pregnancy and I have a very healthy 3 year old to prove that it was just spotting!

Best of luck to you and I hope you get that BFP you are hoping for!!!

Take care,
J.

I do not want to get your hopes to high but i am currently 6months preg and i spotted my first month when it was my period time so i didn't think we were preg either then about 3 weeks latter i started getting nauseaus and just not feeling right so i took a test and i was my OB said some women still spot because of the fetus attaching itself to the uterus wall and some of the wall still sheds as with a normal period this is baby #2 and I did not spot or anything with my first one. I have my fingers crossed for you!!!!

if you chart your tempature every month, you will know very early if you are pregnat because your temp stays high towards the end of your cycle. After 18 days of high temps you are probably pregnant and can take a home test to confirm it. I went through many sticks because i was always so anxious at the end of my period. After learning to chart you can tell if your temp goes down that you are soon getting your period even if it is a couple of days late. Saves the dissappointment of a negative stick if you are hoping to get pregnant. A book, Charting your Fertility is great and helped me learn the best timing to get pregnant. Good luck.
