My daughter is graduating from the Children's Dyslexia Center formerly the Masonic Learning Center. This is an orgnaization that provides free tutoring to children with dyslexia. after 3 years of tutoring my daughter is graduating and is reading above grade level and is an avid reader - quite an accomplishement for a child with dyslexia! My daughter worked hard and we are very proud of her. Our daughter's tutor has given her the wonderful gift of reading and we want to show our appreciation with a special gift.

Do you have any suggestions for a meaningful gift?

See if you can find out who the tutor's fav author is and give them a couple of nice hard-bound books (but they might already own those). You could also buy an inspirational book about teaching a child or something (I bet your local bookstore or Barnes & Noble Associate would have some ideas ). You could also give the tutor a nice card/make sure your daughter writes her name on the card and enclose and a gift card to a bookstore...

You can videotape your daughter reading a book that she has not read before to show just how greatly the tutor has helped and how much the tutor is appreciated.

I am a teacher and I really appreciate gift cards, but it sounds like you are looking for a gift that is more meaningful. You could buy one of those books where your daughter can record herself reading.

first of all my husband is a mason. Congrats!
I would get her a gift certificate or simon card or visa card that has money in it so she can buy whatever she wants. Maybe she is saving up for something special but, gift cards are the best i feel or money.
And a special gift with that i would go to personal creations.com and get a silver bracelet engraved with what you just wrote given your daughter a wonderful gift of reading.. She would greatly appreciate that along with the gift certificate.
