Smart Phone That Synchronizes with Software on a Computer

I am considering getting a smart phone. I am not a gadget person, so want something easy to use. I currently use an old Palm Pilot for organization, that synchronizes very nicely with Palm software I have on my computer. I like the ability to have all the same info on both my phone and computer, and frankly, it's easier for these fingers to type on a regular keyboard if I'm able. I heard that the Palm Pre line can synchronize, but that you have to transfer all data over the internet. (Currently, I just plug in a USB cable and it's done in a minute.). Do any of the other popular phones (Blackberry, I Phone, Droid, etc.) have software that can be on your computer that synchronizes with data on your phone?

What can I do next?

The iPhone is amazing and syncs with the computer! I would ask around and see how AT&T's coverage is in your area. The coverage is the only complaint I have for the iPhone! I also hears that cellphone manufacturer's have to unlock cellphones this year to be compatible with any carrier. If you can hold out til that happens.....then I would recommend the iPhone with whatever carrier you prefer.

We have IPhones and we sync them to our laptops regularly. I love it because it keeps both calendars (outlook and IPhone) up to date. We get notices when Itunes has an update so we update the laptop then sync the phones.

Maybe we are odd man out on AT&T but we've never had coverage issues or many dropped calls. My hubby is on the road a lot and we've never had issues staying in contact.

We love our set up. Do check out all options to make sure you get the right choice for you.

I have the Motorola Droid that I sync with my outlook calendar and contacts and also with my Google Contacts and calendar, and I also synced my Facebook account. My phone automatically syncs though the WiFi so I don't even have to use the USB cable. I just type whatever info I need to on the computer and it automatically goes right to my phone. It's great! I LOVE the Motorola Droid! It's touch screen but has a slide out keyboard. There are tons of free apps and amazing features on the phone and it's very user friendly.

I'd recommend checking out all the various options.

Verizon, for instance, doesn't yet have the iPhone contract, but there are rumors it's coming. They also have different BlackBerries vs. what Sprint/AT&T carry.

My husband got a Droid at Christas, and he loves it. It's heavy, but it's really functional. The biggest complaint I've heard from iPhone users is that the coverage on the AT&T network isn't as good as Verizon, so they don't always have reception, but they love the phone.

My work provides me with a BB, and it's OK. I'd personally choose a Droid or iPhone if I had the choice, but doing Social Media professionally, I need easier functionality than what I currently have.

I don't know anyone who's had the PalmPre. My husband thought they looked cool, but not enough to break our Verizon contract for a product that struggles in the market.
