I love the baby trend as well - it is lightweight, easy to fold with one hand & is cheaper than others. They do have a slightly more expensive one that the sit n stand back part can have a seat or be the sit n stand. My 3 1/2 year old loves it too. Oh, and you can use any brand infant carrier in it as well.
Good luck!

I have a baby trend sit and stand and like it a lot. The only ridiculous thing about it is the basket. Or lack thereof; it is impossibly small. I bought a couple of mommy hooks at babies r us and that has worked out well for hanging the diaper bag, etc.
It fits fine in the back of my CRV but is VERY tight in the back of my husband's Mazda 3, just to give you a sense of size. I have a 2.5 year old and a 5 month old and it has been a LIFESAVER!
**You may want to check on weight limits for the strollers you look at. I THINK the max weight is 40 pounds for the standing child on the baby trend.**

I have one that I bought from One Step Ahead.
I pretty much love it -- except for 2 things;
1) once you fold it up, it doesn't stand up on its own...you have to lay it down.
2) doesn't have much storage space underneath...I always end up carrying the diaper bag!
Besides that - it really is neat! So many options for seating depending on your kids ages and if an infant carrier seat is needed.

J.,
Congrats on your new little one on the way! I have the sit n' stand stroller from the One Step Ahead catalog and absolutely love it! I got it right before younger son was born and my older son was 18 months. They have two models... one is a true double stroller that can be converted to a sit n' stand (which is the one I have) and the other is a single stroller with the jump seat in the back. I have had mine for 18 months now and still use it for walks and trips the mall. Well worth the price (which I can't remember off the top of my head).
Good luck!

I think mine is the Baby Trend brand (I bought it at Target). I think it is fantastic! I have 5 children and have tried various double strollers and sit and stands. This one works really well and is light weight. All the double strollers I have had have been too heavy to be really effective while shopping or going anyplace really. My sit and stand is really great for that. My youngest is just 4 months now and I have a 20 month old. They are the ones that I use it with the most. There is an attachment so that it will hold the small baby car seats also. That part comes off when they are bigger to just be a regular seat for them. And the back part (where they stand) has a little seat that they can sit on if they want. It also includes a seat belt so if they are little and need to be belted to keep them from running away, it can.
I really just can't say enough good things about the ones that I have. I would highly recommend it! I bought mine on clearance when I was pregnant (it was the last years model and the new ones were coming out). I paid $65. I think they normal run around $130 new. I would assume you could find one on Craigslist though.
Good luck with your new baby!

I too have the sit n stand from babies r us. We got it because we thought it would be good because my 3 1/2 year was between wanting to walk and wanting to ride. Well I hate it now. First of all she jumps off whenever she wants which never ends up good and the basket under her seat is useless, I can NEVER get anything in or out of it. Also the front seat doesn't recline very far and it makes it hard to get the little guy comfortable enough to sleep in it. My cousin has a regular double and I wish we would have went that route now.

I LOVE the Double Elite Sit 'n Stand from One Step Ahead (onestepahead.com). I've bought many things from this company over the years and have yet to be disappointed. I bought this stroller more than 2 years ago when pregnant with my 3rd child. My older 2 used it as a Sit 'n Stand for a few months before the baby was born. When baby was born, the older kid got the boot, I put the backseat into the stroller for my then-2-year-old and put the baby's 'bucket' seat in the front. For the past 6-8 months it's been exclusively in the Sit 'n Stand configuration since my middle child is now 4.
This stroller is the only one I've seen like it. It takes less than a minute to convert it from a normal double stroller (backseat has 5-point-harness, footrest and sunshade) to a Sit 'n Stand model (bench to sit on facing backward, platform to stand on). The front seat has a tray with cupholder, the parent's have a tray with small storage compartment and 2 cupholders. The storage basket is large enough to hold several bottles of water, my diaper bag, a few towels and whatever else the kids need stashed during a long day at the zoo or state fair.
It folds easily, fits easily in my car (same size as my single Graco stroller when folded!) and is easy to manuvuer - even with 90 lbs of kid on board! I've used it at least 4-5 times a week for over 2 years and it's still in great condition so you don't have to worry about it being sturdy.

Every one I have known to have one has been unhappy. I recommend a double. I have the graco quatro tour. Mine are almost 3 years apart. Now they are 2 and 5 and we still use it. The front seat he can hop on and off but their is at least a real seat if he does want to sit, which is most of the time.

I found the Joovy caboose sit n stand stroller worked great. I chose it because it was a less expensive than the Baby Trend brand but seemed to be the same stroller. I got mine new off ebay for about $100.00. I loved it my children at the time were about 1 and 3 and I used it for well over 2.5 years. I originally had a regular double stroller but found it so much harder to maneuver than the sit n stand. Only complaint really is that when you fold it it is kind of heavy to put in the car
