Should I Order Two Copies of Daughter's Yearly Photo Book?

I am finally getting my rear in gear and doing my daughter's yearly photo books before 2nd baby gets here. I always teased my mom about having shoe boxes of unorganized pictures and now I have the digital equivalent of shoeboxes on my computer LOL. I'm so on the fence about the whole digital scrapbooking craze, b.c I remember getting out our family albums as kids and loving to look through the pictures. I guess it's a nostalgic thing for me to have actual pictures rather than printed pages of pictures. I know I can always have a reprint made from my digital copy and I also know, it's highly unlikely that I will take the time to put all those photos in an album. Older, wiser mommas, with grown babies, should I get a second copy of these books, so later on my daughter can have one and we can keep one, or is that silly? What have you done with pictures and such? Right now mypublisher has BOGO free so this one would not cost me double. I would appreciate your thoughts on this one.

I think it would be great to get a second copy. A friend of ours had a fire and lost a lot of pictures from when her kids were little. I thought then that it would be a really smart thing to have extra copies made of favorites and keep them in a lock box at the bank or in my parent's safe. Backup your files and if possible keep a copy of everything somewhere outside of your home if you can. If you need it someday you will have it, and your daughter will treasure it when she is older.

The copy I make for my family... is the one my daughter will get.
But now that I have 2 kids, they will need to decide, which ones they want when they are older.

Ordering 2 of everything... can get, like a domino effect. Once you have more than 2 kids. So how many items will you order, for each kid, all their lives??? Of anything??? 2 of everything????
That is my conundrum on it.

But per my budget, I only order 1.
For our family.

I put all our photos on the computer. Backed-up.
Then I do photobooks, via online.
I categorize them per occasion and year.

Yes, I have used My Publisher.
They ALWAYS have sales. If not this one, then another one will arise.
Believe me.
They always, have sales.

BUT, per Christmas Ornaments, I DO order 2. One for my daughter and one for my Son. So that when they are all grown up, they can have it for their own trees and families. I make annual Photo ornaments, each Christamas... via www.kodakgallery.com
It is so worthwhile.
That is my tradition, for my kids.
They love it.
They love knowing that one day it will be theirs. When they are all grown up.

If you can afford to get 2 photo books, then why not.
Then, once your 2nd baby is born, you can get a 2nd copy too, for that child. So a total of 3 books.... one for you/Hubby, one for child #1, and another for child #2.
If I had the money, I would do that.
But it is not practical for me.

I am behind on these but this is what I do or will do when I get caught up. I buy one digital photobook that will go with the child. I do a paper scrapbook for each child. I have a scrapbook that has professional pictures in it that I figure they can take apart and take what they want when the time comes. Then, I have a paper scrapbook that I do for myself.
I have done vacation scrapbooks that I figure I will keep when the kids leave.

I upload my pictures to kodakgallery.com and now I started also uploading to Walgreens because I like to get the prints in one hour. I try to always get a cd of the prints from walgreens AND, I print the good pictures that may go in the scrapbook. The prints that don't go into the scrapbook go into a photo box filed in chronological order.
