Selling Maternity Clothes?

Do you know of a consignment store or similar that will buy maternity clothes?

Long Beach, Lakewood or Torrance areas would be great.

If not, any recommendations on where to donate them? Besides Goodwill/Salvation Army (I'm thinking, a women's shelter, but I haven't been able to find one any my area, but I'm sure there are some). I would prefer not to use Craigslist, just for time reasons. Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

I used to know someone who bought/sold maternity clothes through the OC swapmeet. It's been years, though, so I'm not sure she's still there.

If you can't find a way to sell/consign your materity clothes, then I recommend you consider donating them to a mother's shelter in Long Beach called New Life Beginnings. They're on 6th street between Atlantic and Alamitos. Their phone number is ###-###-####. They support mother's of all ages and their children (born and unborn) by providing shelter, food, education, and so much more. Often, NLB is able to use the clothing. If they're not able to use it, they have a thrift shop that they'll sell it in that supports their mission. Either way, your clothing would support mothers and children who are down on their luck.

I had a bunch of friends hand me down maternity clothes and tell me to donate whatever I was not going to use. We are going to donate those clothes to L.A. Rescue Mission, they have a huge women's program. I think we will personally drop off, but I do know that there is a little maternity / baby store in Riviera Village in Redondo Beach, on Ave. I, just west of PCH that has a bin and will do the drop off for you to L.A. Rescue Mission.

Hello R.. I don't know of any consignment shops, but a wonderful place where you can donate them is called Freecycle.com. If you don't already have an acocunt, you'll have to set one up (which is painless! lol) but it's a site that I love. Instead fo throwing things out, people post items on this site that are gently used, and someone else can snatch them up! As soon as you post your offer, I guarantee someone will contact you within minutes to come pick them up. On this site, you have to be quick on the draw, as I've found out, because the items go so quickly. I am in my 8th month right now, and would have LOVED it if someone would have posted an offer for free maternity clothes! This is a wonderful place to give give give!! :) Good luck to you :)
