My hands are so dry from dishes...cleaning...diapers....bathing the kids, etc. Sometimes they even crack. I use lotion every day but not overly impressed with any of them. I'm on a mission to find the best hand lotion out there for this problem. Please let me know if you have found the one! Thanks!!

What can I do next?

If you are looking for something with little to no fragrance that works well, you should try the Deep Comfort Body Butter by Clinique. It works much better than any of the drugstore varieties that I have tried!

I can relate. My hands get so dry sometimes. L'Occitane Shea butter hand Cream is the best! It's a little more expensive than what you would buy at the drugstore, but it last a long time and it works wonders. Also, you don't need to reapply every single time you wash your hands.

If you want something cheaper, you can get Palmers hand cream at Walmart and it's pretty good too.

When they get cracked try Zim's Crack cream..... works great along with another super moisturizer like Lubriderm or Bob's Bee's hand salve.

I use The Body Shop Hemp Hand Lotion. It is the best. I have tried them all. I went to a web site called www.makeupalley.com People like you and me review everytype of beauty product and then some. The Hemp lotion does not have the illegal chemical stuff in it. And it is on par with L'Occtaine but for half the price. Another thing I do, is once a week I mix almond oil or olive oil and sugar and do a scrub of my hands and feet before bed. Then I put the hand lotion on. It is almost as good as a manicure.

I have the EXACT same problem. I use UDDERLY SMOOTH lotion. It works wonders! It is not greasy or heavy, but it leaves my hands very smoothe. It's very inexpensive, and I bought some for several rooms in the house ... and one for my car! Try it - you will not be disappointed! More important than this, I switched from Bath & Body Works Soap to Softsoap handsoap and within 24 hours there was a remarkable difference. The alcohol in the Bath & Body Works soap tears up your skin. Try Softsoap & Udderly Smooth for a DRAMATIC improvement!

You want a cream (or is it creme?) rather than a lotion. Arbonne has a DELIGHTFUL hand cream. I'm not a consultant, but it's probably not too hard to find one! My sister-in-law is (she gave me the hand cream). I can connect you with her if you need it!

I have the same problem often. I have been known to slather my hands in vaseline before heading off to bed just for some relief! Of course, I can't go around all day with that stuff on my hands, so I'm glad to have found the arbonne product.
Good luck!

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned Eucerine products. They have a body lotion that has alpha hydroxy (helps to get rid of dry top layer) in it that is wonderful!! Eucerine is what my pediatrician and dermatologist recommend and it seems to be the only thing that works for me!!

Renew from Melaleuca!!! It has been clinically proven to be better than Eucerin for softer, smoother, healthier, more moisturized skin in just 24 hours. It works so well, that it is the became the preferred lotion for sufferers of Eczema, Rosacea, Psoriasis and Diabetes that participated in the study! I would love to share with you the study results in black and white--I have a brochure that shows you in black and white all the results. Give me a call ###-###-#### or send me an email: ____@____.com

I can either mail you the brochure or have my husband scan it into the computer and I can send it via email. Whichever you would prefer!

It also works as an awesome diaper rash creme. My son is almost 9 months and has yet to have one!

I second the Arbonne handcream. It's water based, and doesn't have mineral oil. Mineral oil usually coats the surface, which feels good for a bit, but it doesn't allow any moisture to get in.

Crabtree and Evelyn sells a Hand Recovery Kit that is awesome. They have several scents to choose from. Even my hubby likes it.

I like the St. Ives lotions. They have serveral variations, and I pick the Extreme Dry Relief or 24 hour lotions. It's not too expensive, can buy at any store, and it absorbs well into your skin.

Good luck!

I use the body cream from Bath & Body Works. I also use body butter from there. I just recently purchased Clinique's body butter, and it's heavenly! It's not so greasy.

I'll have to try some of that other moms list but Lubriderm has always worked great for me. I recently switched to the Lubriderm Advanced Therpay for Extra Dry Skin and it has worked wonders!! I love it better than their Cocoa Butter formula. My hands would crack, especially my fingers! I have always hated rubbing on some nice fabric because my skin would always catch - yugh!! But no more!!! :-)

Good luck!

Hi E.,

I third the Arbonne hand cream. It works wonders! Like you, I am washing my hands all day long, so my hands get really dry. Last winter, my hands cracked, but this winter, since I've been using the Arbonne hand cream, my hands have not cracked at all! The cream feels wonderful, is botanically-based, fragrance-free, and even has anti-aging elements in it! It retails for $14, but since you are a fellow Mama, I would love to share my discount with you. The cost would be $9.10 plus tax. Arbonne offers a 45 day money-back guarantee, so it wouldn't hurt to try it!

If you'd like some, please contact me at: ____@____.com

Good luck!

I use the Gold Bond Ultimate Healing hand cream/lotion. I have been using it for a while and really like how my hands feel. Works great on feet too!

Thanks to those who mentioned the Clinique lotion - I love Clinique and will have to check that out.
