Seeking Referral for OBGYN in NW.

I previously had my two babies at Willowbrook Methodist and was REALLY not happy with the last delivery. More so the nurses and the administration of things. I am looking for a nice, warm and fuzzy doctor who (female, but would consider an extremely recommended male)practices at the new hospital 290 north (Cypress, I think?)

Hi there:

Don't know anything about OB Gyn's in the Willowbrook area. I highly recommend Dr. Kelly Wilson out of Texas Womens on Fannin. She's in the Med Center...and truly amazing. And, taking new patients. She is warm and fuzzy! You won't be disappointed. Young, brilliant!!! You can find her bio on line...and her number in directory! Good luck!

This is the one referral I never think twice about. He belongs to a practice called OGG of Houston, ck our their website, he has several offices around town. He and his staff are the best. obgynassociates.com. Good luck.

Dr. Kerry Kirkman is highly recomended from doctors of other specialties as well as women I know. She is new and has a great P.A. I can't remember which floor she is on...I want to say 5th but she is in the North Cypress Medical Plaza. Honestly, I think she only delivers at Willowbrook but if you are still interested in her, you are able to ask for different nurses at Willowbrook. You could even hire a doula that would work as a liason between you and the medical staff. You can always email me further if you want to know more about a doula's role in birth and how it might help in your current situation.

I also recommend Kerry Kirkman at Cypress. I have been so impressed - amd I am very picky! I've also had my last two babies at a free standing birth center - they are incredible, but it's in the woodlands, so farther away. It's called Nativiti Birth Center. I also recommend a doula if you're problem was with the nurses. Good Luck!

I also have heard good things about Dr. Kirkman, whose office is at the new North Cypress hospital (medical offices). But I'm pretty sure they do not do deliveries there yet.

I have a great ob/gyn there, only problem is she only does deliveries at Willowbrook Methodist, & it doesn't sound like you are happy with them. The new hospital on 290 does not offer L&D as of this time. My drs name is Kerry Kirkman, she is located on the 5th floor & has a great bedside manner. She is fairly young & very energetic. Her # is ###-###-####, she took my other drs practice when she retired. I have several friends that go to her & we all love her.

I have 3 boys and Dr. Kerry Kirkman (who I see has been mentioned several times) delivered my last one. She took over the practice of Dr. Joanna Roehr (who delivered my other 2). She is young, has kids of her own, and great! You may wait a little in the office, but she now has a nurse practitioner who I saw for my last annual and I really liked her as well and that gets you in sooner. She also delivered my sister-in-laws baby (just happened to be on call) as well as my sister's baby and we all loved her. I delivered all 3 of mine at Cy-Fair which I know has mixed reviews as far as the ER goes, but I was always happy with the Labor/Delivery department. My sister had a good experience at Willowbrook Methodist with Dr. Kirkman (she recently moved to delivering there instead of Cy-Fair). Hope this helps.

Hi L.,

I just joined a couple of days ago...I saw your post. MY OBGYN is a little ways away ~ (it seems that we live very close to each other...)but he is awesome and well worth the drive. His name is Dr. La and he is off of Richmond. I went to him when I was pregnant with my son, I was referred by a friend and ABSOLUTELY loved him and his staff. I was nervous cause this was my first child and had already had a bad experience with another OBGYN (that is why I changed) He is very kind and always concerned...takes time to answer questions and has a great bedside manner. I made the drive which is about 14 miles for me, but it didn't matter to me. the number is ###-###-#### and the address is 12121 Richmond Avenue.

Good Luck!

K.
