Seeking Recommendations for Non-toxic Cleaners for Wood Floors & Stone Counters
Hi all:
I'm preparing our home for the arrival of our baby girl and am seeking recommendations on non-toxic cleaners for wood floors and stone kitchen counters. Since I've been pregnant, I've noticed the strong chemical odor of most commercial cleaners for floors (like Murphy's oil or Swiffer products for wood floors) and would like to avoid exposing the baby to too many chemicals anyway. I'd love any suggestions for green products or even homemade solutions that will do the trick.
Thanks in advance!

I get all of my cleaning products from a place called Melaleuca. They have wonderful cleaners and the prices are the same or better than you would find at your store. You have to be a member to get the Preferred Price, but don't get caught in the "this is a great home business" trap. Our family loves all the Melaleuca products, especially their cleaners and vitamins. The bath & cosmetic products are wonderful, but on the more expensive side. You can become a member, order their products and then if you don't like them you can return them for a full refund (including the membership cost) within 30 days (it might be 90 days, I haven't returned anything for a long time). I remember that when I first switched there was an odd smell and my friend told me that it was the chemicals and buildup being cleaned off. I've never smelled anything else since. They have wonderful all purpose cleaners, wood cleaners, window cleaners, tub&tile cleaners that really work great in the bathroom, laundry detergent, and even a hospital-strength disinfectant.
If you want more information, I would be happy to tell you all about our experience with their products, or help you pick what products you need (the names don't necessarily explain what the product is and I was confused on my first orders). Just email if you decide to try and need any help. Their website is www.melaleuca.com or you can also find more information at www.saferforyourhome.com.
Good luck and I hope your new baby brings you all the joy in the world.

Hi K.,
Lots of good options out there; I would recommend the Shaklee products as well. It's a really effective cleaning product that is so safe you can both wash your produce and clean your floors with the same product. I'm a distributor in the San Diego area and would be happy to give you a sample to try if you'd like. My number is ###-###-####; website is www.shaklee.net/mclemore
In health,
C.

go to www.melaleuca.com , they are an all natural company that has great cleaners and many other things. I use them myself. I have a very sensitive nose and lungs, and these are great.
Good luck
