My daughter's sixth birthday is today and she is wanting to get her ears pierced. After much consideration, I have decided I am going to allow her to get them done, but I am wondering if there are recommendations where to go? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I recommend Claire's also. My 3 year old wanted hers pierced so we went to the one Superstition mall and it was great! But I would make sure to ask if they can double gun her. If i didn't for my little one she would not have got the second ear done. She didn't cry at all but just knowing what is going to happen again would have scared her. :)

I've had my ears pierced at both Claire's and Wal-mart. I do not recommend Wal-mart. You never know who will be piercing your ears and you will not know how experienced they are. When they did mine they were extremely crooked and I had to let them close and wait two years to get them repierced. I had a second hole done at Claire's without any issues. I also watched two little girls before me get them done and they were so sweet and gentle with them. I did have a friend that did her baby's ears at Claire's and they ended up crooked, but I guess that was mostly due to the fact that she was wiggling. Good luck-I definitely would look into Claire's first!

I went to claire's in the mall and couldn't believe the price is $40 on average to pierce the ears. Is this the norm? I love that the sign in the window says it's free ear piercing but then you go in and they say you have to buy the kit and it comes to $40. Anywhere else to go? Wal-mart has the same ad but I don't know if their price range is the same....

I took my daughter when she was six months old to claire's inside the mall and the lady that did it was wonderful and very experienced. I would go there and speak to the person that does it and ask them the questions you want to know to make you comfortable with the situation. They also give you the cleaning solution as well included in the piercing and it lasts the whole 6 weeks and then some. Happy Birthday to your daughter as well!!
