I am looking for any advice anyone may have on twins. Also for other moms in the area for playgroups or friends in the future.

What can I do next?

Hello! What kind of advice are you looking for? I have 2 year old twins, I am a twin, my father was a twin....so I know a little about them! My twins are boy/girl, and my twin is a girl. I am wowed that your husband (?) stays home with the babies! I am 33 years old, and divorced, so I'm the major caretaker of my munchkins. Thank goodness my mother lives close, she is a huge help and source of advice for me. Advice on twins.....ugh. You have to live it to know what it's like! I'm happy to answer any questions or just chat. L.

I too am a mom of 4 month old twin girls. I am 35 yrs old. I have a 5 yr old boy who is in Pre-K. My 20 yr old niece lives with us so she cares for the twins while I am at work. My husband is job hunting right now so I guess you can say he too is home with the twins! I too will be looking for play dates for the twins - for my niece during the week and for me on weekends. I do not have many friends besides co-workers so it will be great to meet new families. There are no children on our street so I welcome play dates for my 5 yr old too. I will definitely be checking out the websites and groups for twins - thanks for those that offered that info

Hello L.

I am the proud mother of twin daughters who are almost 4. My fiance and I work opposide shifts so that one of us is always home with the kids. I work during the day and hes at night. Do you have specific things you are looking to have answered or do you just want to talk to someone who has been thru the experience? I can tell you this... it will get easier. And as they grow and start to develop their own personalities it is going to become even more fun for you and your husband. If you need anything, or just want someone to talk to you can contact me. Im always willing to help out a fellow twins mommy!!

I also have twin girls, a bit older-18 months, my advice would be to contact the Parents of Multiples, or Twins club in your area. Here is the website for the Broward county club: http://www.pomwbc.org - you can usually join for free the first couple of months to see if you like it. It has been great for us-having people who completely understand everything you (or husband) is going through, by being at home and just by being a parent of multiples-many people do not understand. The club usually meets one time per month. They can usually assist in finding play groups, have events (where sometimes babysitting is included!) and don't mind if you have to bring the kids to a meeting-they completely understand.
I know that there is a club in Miami and one in Coral Springs. But I do not have their information.
This is the national club for twins site: http://www.nomotc.org which might be able to help you contact of locate those clubs.
I also found some information online at:
www.about.com/parenting
the site has information on parenting multiples, and stay at home parents (on the left of the page towards the middle to bottom-in red). You can subscribe to about.com and they'll send you emails on whatever topics. Many parents of multiples will actually post reviews on different products, they like or completely dislike.
Hope this helps a little. Best of luck!
Twins are great fun-but a lot of work!!
A.

Hi L.~I am a 39 yr old SAHM to two year old twins. My husband has Mondays off and takes them to the park down the street. During the week I try to find different things to do with them. Sometimes its outside play with water, bubbles, sand or painting. Sometimes its indoor play with crayons, playdoh, pretend play. We try to get out to the zoo as often as possible. I've got two to choose from (Metro Zoo & WPB Zoo). I also try to have a little picnic with them when I visit the Fairchild Botanical Gardens monthly. They are now at the age where I can go on our own little field trips. I found it extremely hard to get out on my own without any help before then.

I hope that both of you look into our local twins club as another member posted. They have great resources! Let dad know that he is not alone. There are several SAHD and I am sure they would love to meet up and share twin stories. I know mine is always up to chatting with another dad. He's amazed to compare.

Wishing you the best of luck.

Hi there. I am 32 going on 33 in a month and have 7 month old twin boys. I was home with them until January. My twins go to a babysitter during the day while I teach first graders. I would love to talk some time as it would be nice to talk to a mom with twins. I attend Mommies in Motion every other Saturday at TY Park. The boys are in the stroller and I push them around. It is an awesome work out. Plus I get to talk to other moms. Other than that I really don't have friends that have children. Let me know if you have any questions on your girls. You can email me on this or at ____@____.com Take care. :0)

Hello,
I am a sahm to twin boys - just 1 month old - in boca. I also have a 2 yr old boy. I plan to start getting out more over the next month or so, and I am thinking of checking out the multiples groups.
My younger sisters are twins, too, so I have a few ideas about what we are in for! ;-)

Anyone with twins, triplets, or more should join the PBCPOM (Palm Beach County Parents Of Multiples) group. It was formerly known as the PBGPOM group but merged with the south county parents of multiples. It is a wonderful group of parents located throughout Palm Beach County. We have holiday events, Moms Night Out, Family Day, Quarterly Meetings, and much more! The website is www.pbcpom.com.
