Seeking Inexpensive Childrens Bedroom Furniture in Philadelphia
My not so little 6 year old boy is getting a new bed. He wants one that looks like just the top of a bunk bed with space underneath for either a fold out bed or a desk or both. Hope that makes sense? Any ideas where I can get an inexpensive one?

IKEA - in all things IKEA - inexpensive, care of the environment, cool designs. Plus you can go online and see what they have wherever you are. Two stores in the Philly area.

You're looking for a loft bed. I'd definitely check out Ikea first.
Good luck! I always wanted one of those too!

Try IKEA. You can look at all their products online, and give your husband specific item numbers or print off the information. The furniture does need to be put together. We have IKEA furniture in both kids bedrooms - 12 yo boy and 8 yo girl. They have lots of decorative things that you can get with the kids once you are more settled to personalize the rooms.
Have Fun.

Where in Philly will you be? I suggest IKEA, which has a store in South Philly and one right outside the city, northwest, in Conshohocken. Or, try Craig's List for Philadelphia, for used furniture. Good luck and enjoy Philly. It's a great city!

Dear B.,
So happy you will be joining us here in the USA!
Just about all of my family is scattered all over England, and I am so pleased that in this day in age we can communicate regularly via the internet. What a difference it has made.
At any rate, I see that you have a lot of good recommendations here and I have one to add so please click on this link: http://www.collegebedlofts.com/
The quality looks a lot nicer that what you get at IKEA plus there is more included. In both instances (either IKEA or College Beds) assembly is required.
Good Luck and Welcome to the US!

Check out IKEA. They have really good prices. I would recommend checking it out though, some of it can be cheaply made.
