Seeking Indiana Campgrounds

I'm trying to find a Safe campground, for tents, for my teenagers to go to. They want to do a trip with friends, any info is appreciated.

What can I do next?

I live in Northwest Indiana and there is a camp ground at the Indiana Dunes Park. I know people that have camped there and there is security and lots of things to do. Hope this helps.

We just visited Tippecanoe River State Park in Winamac, Indiana, about 1 1/2 hours from where we live in Crown Point. It was just an afternoon visit but it was very quiet and clean and I noticed some signs for youth camping.

Hi T.,

I think staying in State camp grounds is usually the best idea. While they don't have some of the amenities that private campgrounds offer, they do have staff that police the campground and keep it safe. Here's the link for the campgrounds. We've stayed in Racoon Lake, which is beautiful but the raccoons will get the food if it isn't stored properly. I love the Indiana dunes for hiking and Turkey Run is a wonderful place for hiking too.

There is a good camp site in Monticello, In @ Indiana Beach - it's called Yogibear Campgrounds and also Indiana Beach has a campground also that is good. There is also a Yogibear Campgrounds in Plymouth, In., we own a camper there and it is a GREAT time, but they don't open until May 1st. Good Luck and have a great time.
