Seeking Help with Flooring Installation and Creating a "Bird Room"
Dear Mommas,
I am looking for someone (or a company) to provide a variety of services in my home in Flower Mound.
I need help w/2 rooms.
I need a basic carpet installation in one room and I would like to create a "bird room" in another. In the "bird room" I need a "super easy to clean" flooring (vinyl?) and painting (w/VOC paint)as well as hanging/creating some bird climbing areas (such as a net, perches etc....)and installing a cat door on the closet door.
I would like to find someone who can give a written estimate and once they begin the job can continue to completion, as I do not want to move my birds outside of their room for any longer than necessary.
I would LOVE to find someone who has experience creating a "bird safe" area though this is not a requirement.
Please refer me to a good company(or person) you know who has given you excellent service in your home w/this type of work.
Thank-you ladies, I know you will not let me down!

Here's a few suggestions for your bird room...saw a room dedicated to Cockatiels who just flew loose all the time.
The room I saw had those woven laundry baskets hung on the walls so that the base was up against the wall. Made GREAT perches and was naturl to chew on but stood up well to the birds. Plus they're CHEAP!
One of those wooden laundry racks that stands alone would make another good perch area with plenty of areas for some birds.
A house I visited that has mostly large parrots had all sorts of sisal rope that was knotted and hung down from various areas and looped about like wild vines from the ceiling. The birds greatly appreciated it!
Meals for the birds were served on platters on the floor in the center of the room. The birds just flew down too it.
Large shallow pans provided water and bathing sites.
One couple even had an old beat up christmas tree in the room for clinging to...
I think I'd be tempted to just go with cement on the bird room floor if not simple viynl. Anything you can sweep or mop! Heck-in my dream bird room I'd put a robotic vacuum to just circle about the floor continuously!
Have fun!

I was in a home I thought was so great. There was like next to the formal dining room all glass like a closet. the front facing the dining room had the whole wall glass. Then there was a sky light at the time. A tunk like a tree with branches going to the too of the room. The door opened from the side. It was fun watching those birds and hearing their songs. I wonder about them sleeping at night. But what a wonderful thing to do. I belonged for a short while New comers bird club and we went bird watching early in the mornings. Fun. Take care do not know any contractors. G. W

I was in Sherwin Williams yesterday and they said they have a NO Voc paint. That would be even better than the low-Voc!
Also, I know of a great product that is a disinfectant that has no fumes, it's very popular among people with birds and lots of vets. It's called Basic G (for Germicide). IT is super-concentrated so it lasts forever. Have to order it online. Has a money-back satisfaction guarantee.
