My mom, my sister, and a handful of my cousin's this tailer regularly. Joe's Tailor shop ###-###-####. They are located in Yorktown, but it's worth the commute. Reasonbly priced as well. Good luck...

Hi,

I actually asked this recently to another group I am involved with... havent brought my alterations in yet, but here's the recommendations:

Well I know of a good tailor but it is behind the Yorktown Mall. It is called Joe's Tailor. A friend of mine referred me there - I needed to have a dress altered. They did a great job and in a timely fashion. While I was there, I noticed there were a lot of regulars coming in and out. Hope this is of some help to you!

There is a FANTASTIC place in downtown Wheaton. George's Tailoring, and they do EXCELLENT work and the prices are lower than any place around.

Just met a lady recently who did a great job inexpensively -- her name is Avalon. Alterations by Avalon, ###-###-#### -- She is near 87th and Route 59.

I know people that have gone to a girl in Naperville. She operates out of her home. She's just off the corner of Ogden Ave & Washington. Shes on the Southwest corner of Ogden & Main. I think she has a sign in her yard that reads "Alterations by Jo" If you drive by you could get her phone number and see whats what.

I had a lady here in Bolingbrook sew all my bridesmaid's dresses a few years back. She did alterations, too, although I'm not sure she's still in business. Her name is Shirley Brandon; her business card says "The Sewing Lady". Her number is ###-###-####. She's trustworthy and reasonable. Good luck.

I take minor stuff to the dry cleaners on 95th just west of the wendy's - the owner is almost always there - she does the alterations - and she's very nice.
seems to be very reasonable - but I really never get quotes - I just bring everything to her.

I have the best and she's at a very reasonable price.

Harriet Janis - ###-###-####

She's semi-retired and works out of her home as a seamstress. Mrs. Janis is a person who really enjoys being her own boss, so loves this arrangement.

She used to work for the big bridal shops. She will do ANYTHING you can come up with and, in my opinion, is an artist. She started working as a professional seamstress over 30 years ago.

I live in Warrenville and drive to see her because it's worth it. She lives and works in St. Charles - right off the main strip, so very easy to find.

Please call her! She is always busy, particularly in prom season, but is very quick and gets to you ASAP. I love her!!

I've had success with the cleaners adjacent to Traverso's restaurant...southwest side of Naperville-Plainfield Road and Leverenz Road. I have had multiple garments that needed alterations handled in a very professional way.
I have not needed to go to the cleaners recently so the name of this store is ?? (Springbrook cleaners?)
I really like the woman who does my alterations and I don't have her card.
