Seeking Activities or Playgroups for 2 1/2 Year Old

Hi Moms,
I have a 2 1/2 year old boy who is very social. He loves people and interaction. We had another baby right away to give him company, but at 11 months old she doesn't simulate him yet! In this economy, we can't afford to send him to daycare even part time. I live in the Coconut Creek, FL area and I am looking for mothers with similar age children to have play dates so he can make some friends. Almost all my friends work full time and their kids are in daycare during the day. I can see he wants friends to play with, mom and baby sister only go so far! If anyone in our area wants their kids to make a new friend please let me know.
Thank you

What can I do next?

I think it's called "Mom's Club" which I belonged to many years ago. Google that and then also join "Meetup.com" (which I wish I had invented...)
It's free and you can easily find groups of similar minded people in your area.
Also, what does your church offer? Do they have a playground and/or a community room you can all bring lunch/snacks for each other? Perhaps you may want to talk with the pastor and start a play group with the other members...that way you already have a base group of friends with whom you can trust.
Blessings, S.

Try meetup.com I found a great group the east Broward moms group, but we meet out east. I know there are more groups that meet out west

MOMS Club
a national organization that groups moms together by zip code. You can look it up online, and they will give you the local presidents' contact information.
it was very helpful for me as a new mom to meet other moms in my neighborhood and have weekly playgroups, holiday parties, MOMS Night Out, etc
good luck

Hi C.

When I moved to Florida I joined the MOMS Club. They were a god sent I met a lot of great ladies with kids the same age as mine. They have play groups that meet once a week for kids in the same age range as your child. I made some great friendships that I still have to this day. I am no longer in the MOMS Club, because my kids are now in school and playgroups usually happen in the day time. I do still have my friends from the MOMS Club and we still do things together. The other good thing about The MOMS Club is they have a Moms Night Out without the kids. This is a fun night without interuptions and actually have a conversation with the other Moms. Look up your MOMS Club in your area. It is really worth it.

Good Luck
C. :)
