Looking for a Great Female OB GYN in Northside Chicago or Evanston

Hi everyone -

I really need to switch my OB GYN - I chose my current doctor's office due to their proximity to my workplace but her office is so incredibly busy that the service is very impersonal. I always feel so rushed.

There are 4 doctors in the practice and they always rotate - so while I was pregnant, I saw each doctor only 2-3 times! One of the doctors STILL did not remember my name after 9 months.

I would really like to find a new OB in the far northside of Chicago (Ravenswood, Andersonville, Edgewater, etc) or Evanston.

Specifically, I'm looking for a female doctor who is kind and compassionate, who will take extra time to get to know you and answer your questions.

Thanks!

I agree with the two other Moms who recommended Partners in Women Care in Evanston. It's a great practice.

hi! i'm not sure if you're open to having a nurse-midwife as your practicioner but there is a wonderful practice of debi lesnick and jenny (her last name is escaping me/debi's partner) and they practice out of evanston northwestern and st. francis. if you want an OB, you can still call them to find out which OBs they partner with. good luck to you! i'm a mom/doula in your area so if you have any questions or need anything please feel free to contact me off list.

best,

When I got pregnant a little over a year ago, I had a hard time finding an OB dr that was taking new patients. I ended up going to Dr. Jill Hoprasart in Evanston. She is great. I felt that she always spent a lot of time with me, took time to see if I had any questions, and was very kind and compassionate. I highly recommend her. You can visit this website for additional info about the practice, what kind of insurance they take, etc. http://www.midwestcenterforwomenshealth.net/export/sites/...

I go to a terrific practice they have offices in both Evanston and Glenview. Dr. Pamela Goodwin is terrific, I switched to Dr. Anthony Kosinski when I was pregnant because Dr. Goodwin does not have evening hours and am very happy with him.

I went to Partners in Womencare located in Evanston. Dr. Chimene Pellar was very nice and patient with us. My husband attended every visit with me and would bring a list of questions that would try anyone's patience. Around the last month of pregnancy, they schedule your visits with the other doctors in the practice just in case your OB is not on call. They are all very nice and I was comfortable with dr. Gupta when she delivered my daughter. Their phone number is ###-###-####.

Hi there,

I just love the OB-Gyn that I used to deliver both of my boys. Her office is at Advocate, Illinois Masonic. (There is ample parking in the area and a parking garage.) She delivers at both Illinois Masonic and at Saint Joseph's, part of Resurrection Healthcare.

Her name is Charanjeet Ray. She has a self-practice and is very personal. I felt completely comfortable with her. The great thing about her is that she delivers well over 90% of her babies. She also lives within a couple of blocks from both hospitals. She is wonderful. I believe she has over 30 years experience too. Her number is ###-###-####. I would recommend her to anyone. Good luck!

I also go to North Shore Assocs (see Jeanne P. email response below) and am very happy with the practice. I use the midwives, Debi Lesnick and Gaye Koconis, who have always made time for me and my questions - have been very happy with them and nurse/front desk staff throughout pregnancy and follow up.
