Seeking a Good Seafood Market

I am trying to incorporate more fish into my families diet. I personally love seafood and love to cook. However, the last few times I've bought seafood at Publix I haven't been too impressed. It just doesn't seem very fresh. I was wondering if anyone had a good seafood market they could recommend - preferably one that has decent prices since seafood can be expensive! I am in Boynton Beach. Thanks in adavance!

What can I do next?

Thank you to all who responded! Since posting this, I have been to Captain Frank's a few times! I am very impressed with the freshness and quality of the seafood. It's a little more pricey than the grocery store (where I used to buy my seafood), but worth it! Thank you so much for the recommendations! I'm also planning on checking out "The Boys" Market sometime soon! :)

I second Tracy B's suggestions. My husband and I moved to Boynton 3 1/2 years ago and we were lost without our local fish market UNTIL we found Capt. Franks. It is a hole in the wall, family owned and hands down the freshest seafood around. They have the most wonderful lobster bisque and nice stone crab when they are in season.

Although I have never been to The Brother's Market, several moms in my neighborhood rave about it. So I guess I need to head down that way and see for myself!

Best of luck,

you didn't say where you are, but 2 good ones are POP's seafood market in Deerfield (on Hillsboro E of 95), and one in Tamarac on 44th St between Sunrise and OPB, West of University called The Fish Peddler. Are you even in Broward?

Not sure if this answer comes too late, but Old dixie seafood in Delray beach has great seafood. They are located on Dixie Hwy between Yamato Road and Hidden Valley. Ask for Jill and tell her M. Doyle sent you. Good luck to you.

J.,
I have two options. I see you're in Boynton Beach from your profile. The first place is The Brothers Market. It's located on Military Trail near Atlantic Blvd (I think it's just north of it). It is a full market with fresh fruits, vegetables, cheeses, salads, warm entrees, etc... Kind of a fun stop for little ones, too. There's also a U-Pick Strawberry market (I think it's called The Sisters.. LOL) located right next (and behind) it. I've picked up some seafood here before.
The second option is :
Capt Frank's Seafood Market
435 W Boynton Beach Blvd
Boynton Beach, FL 33435

We've ordered lobsters from here for Christmas Eve twice and were impressed by the freshness, preparation and courtesy of the staff. I received a recommendation for this place from a co-worker. I'm sure they have an array of fresh fish, too.

I say Captain Franks on Boynton Beach Boulevard is good...but any fresh seafood will be pricey...I've been getting the catfis at Publix and it's been very good...we got salmon fro Costco and it was awful...Publix Salmon is better and the shrimp at our Publix has been extremely good...but try Capt Franks...great choices...BB
